Indian Motorcycles has announced the launch of the new 2022 Chief lineup in our market. The range comprises three models – Chief Dark Horse, Chief Bobber Dark Horse, and Super Chief Limited. The prices for the 2022 Chief range start from Rs 20.75 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.
All three motorcycles use a steel-tube frame and are powered by Indian Motorcycle’s Thunderstroke motor. The 1,890cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine delivers a peak torque output of 162Nm at 3,200rpm. The motor also features a rear cylinder deactivation function.
The feature list on the complete range comprise a 15.1-litre fuel tank, bobbed rear fender, dual outboard preload-adjustable rear shocks, 46mm front forks, dual exhaust, LED lighting, keyless ignition, and Pirelli Night Dragon tires. The electronic package includes ABS, cruise control system, and three ride modes (sport, standard, and tour).
The motorcycles also come equipped with the company’s Ride Command system that can be operated through the switchgear or via the digital IPS touchscreen display. The system offers access to two different gauge configurations, bike information, ride data, and turn-by-turn navigation. The system can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth or USB. Once connected to a smartphone, the system offers access to phone information, recent calls, contacts, number pad, and text message history.
