2021 Suzuki Hayabusa: Top 5 Highlights

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the 2021 Hayabusa in the Indian market at an aggressive price tag of Rs 16.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The bookings for the motorcycle have opened, and interested buyers can reserve a unit of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa for Rs 1,00,000 through the ‘Suzuki at your Doorstep’ program. Here we list the top five highlights of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa.

Design

The third-generation model has received a major overhaul, and the 2021 Hayabusa now features an updated design and new features. The motorcycle has been launched with a full model change for the first time in 13 years. The 2021 Hayabusa packs features such as full-LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument cluster with an LCD screen, a split-style saddle, and twin-sided exhaust cannisters. The 2021 Hayabusa weighs 264kg (kerb) while the claimed fuel economy stands at 14.9kmpl.

Colours

The 2021 model gets two-tone colour schemes. Similar to the international markets, the 2021 Hayabusa is available in three colours in India. The colour options include Glass Sparkle Black/Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Matte Sword Silver/Candy Daring Red, and Pearl Brilliant White/Metallic Matte Stellar Blue.

Engine

The 2021 model has received mechanical upgrades to comply with the BS6/Euro5 emission norms. Linked to a six-speed gearbox, the updated, 1,340cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor produces 187.7bhp of maximum power at 9,700rpm and 150Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm. The company claims that the revised intake and exhaust mechanism setup on the 2021 Hayabusa delivers enhanced output and torque in the low-to-mid speed range.

Hardware

The shock absorption hardware on the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa includes upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. The braking setup comprises twin discs at the front with Brembo Stylema, four-piston callipers and a single rotor at the back with a Nissin, single-piston calliper at the rear.

Electronics

The electronic rider aids on the 2021 Hayabusa include the new Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (S.I.R.S.). The system brings features such as a ride-by-wire electronic throttle system, launch control, riding modes, power mode selector, traction control, engine brake control, a bi-directional quickshifter, an anti-lift control system, hill hold control, slope dependent control system, Suzuki easy start system, low RPM assist, cruise control, and an Active Speed Limiter. The safety tech allows the rider to set a speed limit that the bike should not exceed.
