2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sport: Top 5 Highlights

Honda 2Wheelers India has announced the launch of the 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sport in the Indian market. The newest iteration of the company’s flagship adventure tourer features an updated colour palette. Here we list the top five highlights of the 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sport.

Design

The styling received a major makeover in 2020 when the Japanese brand updated the model to comply with the newest emission norms. Thus, the 2021 model gets no changes to the design. The feature list comprises of twin-pod LED headlight, an adjustable windscreen, semi-fairing design, adjustable split-style saddle, tall-set exhaust, aluminium skid-plate, and tubeless tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels.

The colour palette, as aforementioned, has been revised and the manual transmission version of the 2021-year model will be sold in Darkness Black Metallic paint. The DCT variant, on the other hand, will be offered in Pearl Glare White Tricolour option. Honda will also offer a wide range of accessories for both variants of the Africa Twin. The list includes a top box, a rear carrier, a rally step, a DCT pedal shifter, fog lamps, and visor.

Engine

The mechanical specifications retain the 1,084cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 98bhp of maximum power at 7,500rpm and 103Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motorcycle is available with two gearbox options – a six-speed manual and a six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission.

Electronics

The electronics include rider aids such as wheelie control, rear lift control, ABS, cornering ABS, five riding modes, and cornering detection feature in the DCT variant. The motorcycles also pack features such as cornering lights, cruise control, heated grips, and a 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen display with the Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity.

Hardware

The suspension setup includes Showa-sourced upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the back – both featuring a long travel. The braking setup includes double discs at the front and a single rotor at the back. The motorcycle rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels that are shod in 90/90 and 150/70 section tyres, respectively.

Price

The DCT variant of the 2021 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sport has been priced at Rs 17,50,500 while the manual transmission version is available for Rs 15,96,500 (both ex-showroom, Maharashtra).
