2020 Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX: What else can you buy?

The recent addition to Kawasaki’s BS6 line-up is the fully-faired sport tourer, the 2020 Ninja 1000SX. The motorcycle is a great combination of comfortable ergonomics and a smooth inline four cylinder engine. Also, at Rs 10.79 lakh, it is one of the most affordable 1000cc bikes available in the market. In spite of that, in case you’re open to look at more options around the Rs 10.50-11 lakh price bracket, here are four bikes worth considering.

BMW F900XR: Rs 10.50 lakh

The BMW F900XR is another sport tourer which has recently arrived in India. The motorcycle features a half-faired design inspired by its larger sibling, the S1000 XR, while it offers comfortable ergonomics for long distance riding. It also packs a decent set of electronic aids such as switchable traction control and two riding modes. Powering the bike is an 895cc parallel-twin motor which is derived from the F 850 GS’ powerplant and produces 105bhp and 92Nm.

Yamaha MT 09: Rs 10.64 lakh

If your want a naked street fighter for honing around the city and occasionally gunning it down a race track, the Yamaha MT 09 makes for a great machine. It is powered by a torquey 847cc, inline three cylinder engine which makes 111bhp and 87.5Nm. The six-speed gearbox is accompanied by a quick shifter while three riding modes, traction control and ABS complete its electronics package.

Ducati Monster 821: Rs 10.99 lakh

The Monster 821 is for those looking for a muscular street bike from a brand as exotic as Ducati. It sports an appealing design which is inspired by the original 1992 Monster 900. Powered by an 821cc, twin cylinder motor, it churns out 105bhp and 86Nm. With eight-level traction control and three-level ABS, the Monster 821 gets impressive gizmos which can also be added with optional two-way quick shifter and a Bluetooth-enabled interface.

Triumph Scrambler 1200: Rs 10.73 lakh

For the adventure-junkies who are willing to take the roads less travelled, the Triumph Scrambler 1200 is a very capable motorcycle. With a combination of 21-17-inch spoke wheels shod with dual-sport Metzeler Tourance tyres, it can take on tricky terrains. And the Showa suspension and Brembo brakes make for a premium hardware package. Furthermore, the punchy performance from its 1200cc, parallel-twin engine is controlled by a number of rider aids such as ride-by-wire throttle, cruise control, traction control and five riding modes.
