Yamaha has launched the 2018 WR450F Rally Replica. As the name suggests, the bike is identical to the one used by the official Yamaha Rally team.The original bike, famous for its win in the Merzouga Rally this year, is also used in the Rally Raid and FIM World Enduro Championship.
The WR450F Rally Replica uses semi-double cradle frame that houses a 449cc single cylinder engine. This engine is mated to a five-speed transmission and final chain drive. Yamaha has not revealed the power figures of the bike. The off-road focused motorcycle sports telescopic front forks at the front with 310mm of travel; whereas the rear gets a link suspension with 318mm of travel.
The bike sits on a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel that is wrapped by knobby tyres. Braking for the bike is done by 290mm and 245mm disc for the front and rear respectively. The WR450F Rally Replica uses an enormous 31- litre tank, fit for endurance racing.
Yamaha is also offering customers who buy the bike, a chance to try out the 2018 Dakar Rally. It will also take care of transporting spare parts and providing race side mechanical support in collaboration with DRAG’On rally race service.
