2017 FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Championship Round 4 draws to an end

The fourth round of the FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Championship (INMRC) has drawn to an end at the MMRT race track in Chennai. Jagan Kumar won both the races of the Super Sport Indian (up to 165cc) class while Deepak Ravikumar registered two wins in the Super Sport Indian (300cc to 400cc) class. 

With this victory, Jagan scored 50 points over the weekend, jumping from the fourth to the second position. He has now narrowed the gap between him and the championship leader, Rajiv Sethu, to just one point. Jagan was followed by his TVS Racing team-mates KY Ahamed and Kannan Subramaniam. In the Pro-Stock (up to 165cc) category, Anish Shetty took victory in both the races, while Peddu Sriharsha won both the races in Novice Stock (up to 165cc) category. There were four races in One Make championships, two each for Honda and TVS. Both the races of Honda One Make were won by Hari Krishnan Rajagopal while the TVS equivalent races were won by Sivanesan S. Aishwarya Pissay won the TVS One Make Girls race.

 

MMSC also conducted the third round of the Indian National Drag Racing Championship this weekend. The 361-550cc category was won by Sudhakar Kesavan, who also recorded the fastest time for the 300-metre dash for the day. The 226-360cc category was won by Shankar Guru, Jagan Kumar recorded a win in up to 165cc category, while the 166-225cc category was won by Mujahid Pasha. The two-stroke support race of up to 130cc was won by Jaweed Basha while Mohammed Tousheed scored the top slot for the 131-165cc category. Kesavan clocked the day's best timing of 13.431 seconds.

The next round of 2017 INMRC will be conducted at MMRT track in Chennai between 29 September and 1 October, and is likely witness a heated battle for the premier Super Sport Indian category crown.
