Triumph has launched the Tiger XCA in India at Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This fully loaded adventure motorcycle is the fifth 800cc Tiger model in Triumph’s line-up and comes with a host of accessories and upgrades to improve its off-road capabilities.
The Tiger XCA is built around a steel trellis frame, which underpins the entire Tiger 800 range. It gets a minimalistic design which is in tune with the bike’s off-road character. Powering the Triumph Tiger XCA is an 800cc three-cylinder engine, which is also used in the rest of the 800cc Tiger range. The engine gets ride-by-wire throttle and delivers 94bhp and 79Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission.
The Tiger XCA rides on 43mm WP USD front forks and a WP rear monoshock. Braking is provided by twin 308mm front discs and a 255mm single disc in the rear. An advanced ABS system allows adjustments to vary the amount of slip permitted for the wheels. The electronics package includes three switchable riding modes, four throttle maps, cruise control and an advanced trip computer.
The Tiger XCA gets rugged safety features like hand guards, sump guard, windscreen, centre stand, engine and radiator protectors. Other additional equipment includes heated rider and passenger seats, heated grips, fog lamps, a GPS mounting kit, LED fog lamps, CNC machined foot rests and aluminium pannier rails. It also gets a bigger 650W alternator and three auxiliary sockets to power electronic devices.
Imported as a completely built unit, the Triumph Tiger XCA will be available in two paint schemes –crystal white and matt khaki green. The Tiger XCA is the top-of-the-line model in the British manufacturer’s 800cc adventure bike range, and competes with the only other middleweight adventure bike in the Indian market – the BMW F650 GS.
