Vardenchi
Vardenchi, the Mumbai-based custom motorcycle maker, launched the T5 bike at the Auto Expo pricing it between Rs 8-12 lakh. The new motorcycle has been jointly designed and developed by the company with the Italian manufacturer, Moto Morini.
The Vardenchi T5 though designed and produced in Mumbai has its engine imported from Italy-based Moto Morini. Akshai Varde, Founder, Vardenchi Motorcycles, says the bike would have digital instrumentation.
Apart from the T5, Vardenchi Motorcycles also launched two other models- the Granpasso and the Scrambler. The Granpasso 1200 is an adventure series motorcycle powered by a 1,187-cc V-twin oversquare engine while the Scrambler, which is built for all-terrain crossover use, is powered by the same motor. These motorcycles would be priced in the range of Rs 27-32 lakh.
The Vardenchi-Moto Morini motorcycles have been targeted at premium segment buyers by pricing it above Rs 8 lakh. These will go up against motorcycles from manufacturers like Harley-Davidson, Honda, Triumph and Suzuki Motors. The motorcycles will be imported and distributed in India by Vardenchi Motorcycles.
Vardenchi Motorcycles plans to sell 600 units of these bikes per year. Their aim is to increase the number to 2,000 in the next five years. Presently, the company has its distribution network in four states in our country including Gujarat and Rajasthan and plans to widen the network by adding four more dealerships in Punjab and Delhi.
