Hero iON
Hero MotoCorp has exhibited the iON, which is a Hydrogen-fuel cell concept two-wheeler. The company has given everyone a glance of the future products from the manufacturer, also demonstrating their belief and commitment towards motorcycling in India.
The iON is powered by a hydrogen cell fuel cell placed in the centre of the structure of the bike. This in combination of batteries and super capacitors smoothen out the braking and acceleration needs. These batteries boast of the Li-Air technology which have high energy. This is mainly because they obtain oxygen from the air directly instead of storing it in an oxidizer internally. The rotor component of the hubless electric traction motors is placed inside the wheels. This assists in braking as it is equipped with the magnetic levitation technology which works on zero friction.
Another highlight of the vehicle is the m-ink suspension system that uses magnetorheological damping. It adapts itself to the road conditions with the help of on-board sensors. The power of the electromagnet, which is responsible for managing the damping, is varied by virtue of these advanced sensors mounted on the vehicle.
The instrument console gives out the basic information of the concept two-wheeler. Most of the detailed information is conveyed to the rider through the helmet. VSA (Vehicle Situation Awareness) system keeps updating the traffic conditions while overriding any lower priority communications as soon as the traffic density becomes heavy. Packing the iON with these futuristic features, Hero MotoCorp has introduced a green motorcycling experience to one and all.
