Indian Motorcycle unveils the new Chief range; India launch in coming months

The legendary American motorcycle company, Indian Motorcycle has unveiled their new range of Chief motorcycles that will start retailing in US soon. The motorcycles were unveiled at the 73rd Sturgis Motorcycle rally and will be making their way to India in the coming months.

Indian Chief Vintage

The Indian Chief is available in three variants – Classic, Vintage and Chieftain. All the motorcycles will be powered by 1.8-litre Thunder Stroke 111 engine. The company has decided not to reveal the power figures but decided to give away the 161Nm at 3000rpm torque figures. The engine is mated to six-speed gearbox.

Indian Chieftain

The auto maker has blended its classic and heritage design with the latest technology and gadgets for the new Chief range. The entry level Chief is priced at $18,999 (Rs 11.72 lakh) which makes the legendary motorcycle accessible to many buyers. The Chief Vintage and the Chieftain is priced at $ 20,999 (Rs 12.96 lakh) and $ 22,999 (Rs 14.20 lakh) respectively.

Indian Motorcycle will come to India in coming months and another interesting fact to support the claim is that the company has already bought the www.indianmotorcycles.in domain which redirects it to their international site. The pricing of these motorcycles will start from Rs 20 lakh and will be sold in India through completely-built-up (CBU) route.
