Yamaha has launched the new Ray-Z scooter and SZ series in Goa today. The Ray-Z is based on the Ray, making it the second scooter in the company’s product portfolio. Other than the new graphics, the company claims they have updated the carburetor, and suspension settings and it also gets new frame materials. Other than this, the scooter gets a a smoked-finish visor, aluminium rear wing-shaped tandem rider grab-bars, a new instrument panel with a carbon fiber patterned backgroud and a carbon fiber pattenered seat cover material. Yamaha claims 53kmpl fuel efficiency for the Ray-Z and has been priced at Rs 48,555 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Ray-Z is powered by the same 113cc air-cooled engine that powers the Ray. This engine churns out 7.1PS at 7500 rpm and 8.1Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The Ray-Z will be available in red/black , white/black and blackc colours.
The Japanese maker also launched two new variants of the SZ series, the SZ-S and the SZ-RR. The SZ-S which replaces the SZ-X is targeted more towards customers who are looking for a decent-looking 150cc motorcycle and do not expect much from the motorcycle. On the other hand, with the SZ-RR, the company is trying to target consumers who are fashion and status conscious and do not want a regular 150cc commuter motorcycle.
The SZ-S and the SZ-RR has been priced at Rs 59,500 (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 62,500 (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively. The SZ-S and the SZ-RR are powered by 153cc air-cooled engine which produces 12.1PS of power at 7500 rpm and 12.8Nm of torque at 4500 rpm.
