I had a test ride of mahindra duro recently.

Duro makes it a better choice when compared to other scooters in the market. It has an amazing quality of ride backed up with a powerful engine!

it looks like a very cost effective choice at such a low price.

  • Mahindra should stop selling worthless scrap like duro

    Harsha

We have bought mahindra duro over five years ago and we've regretted buying it ever since.

Firstly, the accelerator in duro works different from other bikes, it accelerates rapidly for just a little rise, it's too difficult to travel at a speed less than forty kmph.

The engine had always been noisy no matter how many times we repair it. A new problem arises with it every now and then like a problem with the lights, or having trouble starting, the back seat lock's parts broke frequently, the screws at several places have come apart, the stands have misaligned, the kick rod stopped working, the accelerator grip has broken and finally after three years of using it, things like accelerator and fuel indicator stopped working so on.,

I think overall, the design of the vehicle is very poor and mahindra needs to take care in making new models from here on.

Very bad experience with duro. Always create problem while starting. Its engine is worst and not as easy to open for mechanics. Body is worst. Its better to purchase activa with same range. • 4 year long ownership review. Best factors service cost maintenance minor problems explained.

    Abhijeet Vibhandik

It is my 4 year ownership review.

Before buying i just compared my duro with its competitors like activa, access 125, maestro and pleasure. Then requirement of nice torque, only satisfied by access125 and duro125.

After further points considering fuel economy and carrier space as well space near feet is too great. Duro is more comfortable and spacious compared to other mopeds in class, also the torque is beating access125, tested when had a drag race between both of it.

Only thing duro is behind from its competitors is lack of aesthetics and looks.

Riding experience is very comfortable, even i am 6' tall, and can ride comfortably. During off-road riding, it sometimes bumbles. Breaking is good, drum brakes, it needs to tighten after every 40-45 days.

I am getting 43-45 kmpl fuel economy as of now, since i owned this bike from may'13.

Need to change the battery after 4 years in july'17, which cost me 1400/-.

There was no problem for service centers, service is cheap in cost but nice in quality, only costs 400-500 rs per servicing.

I can say one can prefer duro over activa or pleasure or maestro.

Starting problem has been fixed which was earlier experienced by some duro owners.

Overall, its smooth riding quality, good torque, spaciousness, fuel economy and low service cost makes you feel buying it eyes closed.

  • No service no spare parts left in the lurch

    Kanchan

I purchased mahindra scooter duro in april 2011 from himayatnagar, hyderabad showroom. It was regularly serviced at surya motors, ranigunj, secunderabad workshop until 2018. In 2019 january when i wanted to give it for servicing, i was told that the service centre had shifted and despite my best efforts i could not locate a service centre in the city limits. Thereafter i searched on the internet and located an authorised service centre, silver motors at bahadurpura, hyderabad. They did not repair the scooter and informed me that the parts were not available. I am suffering because the scooter does not start very frequently and there is no trained mechanic to handle and repair this. I wonder, why a company of super stature like yours has failed to provide after sales service and repair to a scooter which is priced at par with other scooters. If you have stopped the production of this model scooters, you should give option for exchange with your current production range so that people buying your scooter are not left high and dry.At present neither i nor any other owner of this model will ever think of buying your any model and will never advise any person to buy your product as i am not sure when it will be withdrawn and i am left with costly skeleton.

    Ajay

I bought this scooty in Jun 2011...I did many tours with it in himachal...It has the largest space, a great power to carry heavy loads in places like himachal.
Great seat, great light. Only issue with the front suspension, later it was replaced by shockers in duro dz.
However, it is a great purchase, i am still using it for any type(Indians can make anything useful for everything) of works..
Mahindra never compromises with build quality...Hats off to Mahindra sir

  • Duro as moped

    Ashish Sahoo

I have been using this moped for the last 7 years . First 5 years it was fantastic without any problem in terms of its pickup, design, utility box space which doesn't match any other moped in its category with low fuel efficiency. But now its just a 'white elephant' with worst pickup, fuel efficiency and what not.Now i realise that its spares are not available in the city like nagpur except mahindra showrooms which is very far from my residence. So, my kind suggestions to all amateur moped buyers is not to buy this moped. If you want to buy moped you can go for activa and vespa.

I had a test ride of mahindra duro recently.

Duro makes it a better choice when compared to other scooters in the market. It has an amazing quality of ride backed up with a powerful engine!

it looks like a very cost effective choice at such a low price.

Good choice to go for... All the best !
