The Yamaha Ray has been a fairly successful scooter but was specifically targeted at female riders. To capture a greater share of the market, Yamaha launched the Ray-Z in May last year, which is nothing but the Ray with a masculine appeal.
Mechanically, the scooter remains the same but carries some restyled bits and louder graphics. The Ray-Z features a smoked-finish visor, a new instrument panel, a carbon fibre patterned seat and aluminum rear grab-bars. The front features V-shaped headlights while the rear houses a stylish tail lamp assembly with clear-lens indicators. Despite the lean and sculpted body, the underseat storage, with a 15.5-litre capacity, is spacious enough for a full face helmet and the floor board has enough place for your legs.
The Ray-Z continues to be powered by the standard 113cc engine which produces 7bhp and 8Nm of torque via a CVT gearbox. Yamaha claims that the roller-rockers and carburetor have been updated while the suspension has been tweaked. The engine is refined and suitable for city commute. The Ray-Z retains drum brakes on both wheels and now a ‘UBS’ system which links both the front and rear brakes when the rear is applied, is an optional extra for Rs 500 more. This will become standard fitment, come April.
Priced at approximately Rs 52,000 (ex-showroom Mumbai) the Ray-Z is offered in four colour schemes; red, blue, white, and dark blue. It joins the crowd of other scooters like the Honda Activa 5G, Honda Dio, TVS Wego, Hero Maestro and TVS Jupiter.
The ARAI mileage of Yamaha Ray Z is 62 kmpl. The average of the Ray Z is 45 kmpl, as per the owners of the bike.

Bad average small size and touch ground because of low clearance

Small size Pick up 60km/hr in just few seconds After 60kmperhr speed it start shrinking Average is so bad. Design is old Yes you can go for modifications But Now there are many other options Who look much pretty and give very good average too. Its price is high. Its my personal point. You will not get its parts very easily Even in there authorized service center. I face this thing many times. Required high maintenance. I suggest don't buy this one, Go for other one.

I think it is pretty expensive as compare to other 110 cc scooter (2014) . Overall riding experience was fabulous it gives a great pickup . Design is damn good , aggressive and sporty look , but not that comfortable for tall person. I'm riding this since 2014 and i haven't face any major issue regarding his performance. Servicing and maintenance was not that costly. Pros :- Aggressive and sporty look .Instant pickup .Low maintenance cost .Cons:-Millage is poor. Not comfortable for tall person .Plastic body.

My first bike. Just love the experience from 6 years. Pick up is best among any other and perfect road grip. Mileage is only cons. Still i won’t change because of best experience. Well controlled at any speed and situation. Never got accident with it since i bought it. Lovely bike. My dad gifted it. Always blessed with it.

All thing is average about this scooty, yamaha is only known for powerful engine,no doubt. If you wanna different bike, go with yamaha. Maintenance is costly as compared to other scooty in India, mileage is normal in city, Only yamaha have real engine in cold weather.
