About V Strom 1050

Suzuki V Strom 1050 is expected to launch in India in October 2022 in the expected price range of ₹ 14,00,000 to ₹ 15,00,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to V Strom 1050 are Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 1200 & Triumph Tiger 900.

The Suzuki V-Strom 1050 is the latest version of the Japanese brand’s litre-class adventure touring motorcycle which was unveiled at the 2019 EICMA Show in Milan. In essence, it is a heavily updated successor to the V-Strom 1000 with an all-new styling, a host of new features and a tweaked powerplant.

In terms of looks, it takes inspiration from the brand’s iconic adventure bikes, the DR Big 750 and 800 of the 1980s. It sports a new square-shaped headlamp with a taller windscreen while the curvy fuel tank of the outgoing model has been replaced by a boxy unit. Moreover, the beak faring looks beefier now. Suzuki has also added more features such as the dated-looking semi-digital instrument cluster has made way for a full-colour LCD display. Moreover, it also gets a tweaked ECU with faster processor along with improved traction control and three riding modes.

Although the new V-Strom 1050 continues to be powered by a 1037cc, V-twin motor, the power figures have gone slightly up to 105bhp and 100Nm. The engine is now Euro5/BS6-compliant. Suzuki offers the V-Strom in two variants – a standard model with alloy wheels which are shod with road tyres while there’s also an XT trim which rides on alloy wheels wrapped by dual-purpose tyres. The latter also comes with a few added equipment which make it more adventure-friendly. Suspension setup comprises of inverted forks and monoshock while braking is handled by disc brake at both ends, assisted by dual-channel ABS as standard.

Suzuki currently offers only the standard variant of the V-Strom 1000 in India, which is priced at Rs 13.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The 1050 version is expected to arrive sometime next year and it remains to be seen if the company brings only the standard model or the XT trim as well.
