- KTM’s upcoming electric scooter rendered

It’s a known fact now that KTM and Bajaj are working on an electric scooter which will be based on the new Chetak. As we had told you in November 2019, this e-scooter will be a more powerful version of the Chetak and will be sold through KTM’s retail network. While further information about this product is awaited, a new render has surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of the KTM electric scooter’s prospective design.
Back in 2013, KTM had revealed the E-Speed electric scooter concept which has evidently been an inspiration for this new render to some extent. However, the sharp lines running across its minimalistic bodywork and those exposed mechanicals surely make it look much more futuristic. Also, there are certain orange-coloured components like the exposed frame, handlebar and brake calipers which lend it a traditional KTM styling.
Now, the final production-spec KTM e-scooter might look different, but this render surely hints towards a profoundly sporty and unique-looking product. Interestingly, we will also see an e-scooter (shown above) from KTM’s sister brand Husqvarna and that too will be based on the Bajaj Chetak. But it’s worth noting that these scooters will have a higher top speed and riding range than the Chetak. The production of the KTM and Husqvarna electric scooters is likely to begin around 2021-2022 at Bajaj’s Chakan facility.
