- Okinawa resumes operations at corporate office and manufacturing plant
- Dealerships in orange and green zone will also reopen
- HR department will conduct COVID-19 awareness sessions everyday
After the government easing restrictions with the announcement of the lockdown 3.0, several manufacturers have started to gradually resume operations. One of these brands is the Gurgaon-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Okinawa which has announced restart of operation in its corporate, production and retail division.
All the operations in these departments will be carried out with 25 per cent workforce. Only those dealerships which are located in green and orange zones will reopen their shutters and will be taking all the precautionary measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The company has issued a safety advisory to its dealer partners which suggests conducting thermal screening of the customers and showroom employees. The stores will also be disinfected on a regular basis.
Every unit of Okinawa two-wheeler being dispatched from the facility will be sanitized followed by its sanitization after reaching the dealership as well. Also, the seating arrangement at the corporate office is scattered enough to maintain social distancing. The HR department will be conducting COVID-19 awareness sessions everyday. Furthermore, Okinawa has also installed a sanitization tunnel for individuals at the plant.
In order to help dealers earn more profit, Okinawa had last month announced a hike of 3 per cent in margin on every two-wheeler sold by them.
