Kawasaki Z250 discontinued in India

- Z250 no longer sold in India

- Discontinued due to poor sales

Kawasaki’s most affordable motorcycle in India, the Z250 is no longer being sold in India. The company has unlisted the bike on its official website.

While the Z250 was the cheapest Kawasaki one could buy in India, it was still expensive at Rs 3.08 lakhs. In fact, post the launch of the Ninja 300 ABS at Rs 2.98 lakhs (ex-showroom), the sales of the Z250 dwindled to its lowest ever. The Japanese brand couldn’t sell any units in the last few months. So it made sense for the company to discontinue the bike, and use the production time for some other bike.

Inspired by its bigger Z family, the Z250 gets its power from a 249cc fuel-injected parallel-twin. This liquid-cooled engine develops 32bhp and 21Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Z250 didn’t have a direct rival, but when it comes to pricing, it competes with the Benelli TNT 300.
