5 highlights of the new Hero Maestro Edge 125

After encountering a slight delay in its launch timeline, Hero has finally introduced the Maestro Edge 125 in the Indian market. So what’s new about the Hero Maestro Edge? We list down the top 5 highlights of the newest 125cc scooter on the block.

LED lighting

The Maestro Edge 125 is the first scooter to roll out from Hero Motocorp’s plant fitted with an LED DRL. The pentagon-shaped LED DRL is placed on its front apron unlike most other scooters which have it in or around the headlamp. The headlamp on the Maestro Edge 125, however, has a conventional halogen bulb while the tail lamp has LED lighting.

Bigger engine and fuel-injection system

Powering the Maestro Edge 125 is a 124cc engine similar to the Hero Destini 125. However, along with a carburetted version, Hero is also offering the Maestro Edge 125 with a fuel-injection system; a first for any scooter in India. While the carb variant generates 8.7bhp, the FI variant produces 9.1bhp. Nevertheless, the torque figures remain the same at 10.2Nm and both engine come mated to a variomatic gearbox.

Mechanicals

The Maestro Edge 125 rides on 12-inch front 10-inch rear wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock for the rear. Hero is offering the scooter in three variants; carburettor with drum, carburettor with disc and the FI version which gets a disc brake at the front as standard.

Colour options

Just like its 110cc sibling, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 is offered in multiple colour schemes. The carb variant is available in four paintjobs- blue, brown, grey and red. Meanwhile the FI variant can be bought in either a white or black colour.

Pricing

As aforementioned, the Maestro Edge 125 is offered in three variants with pricing varying accordingly. The carb with drum brake variant costs Rs 58,500 while the carb with disc costs Rs 60,000. On the other hand, the top-spec FI version is priced at Rs 62,700. (all prices are ex-showroom, Delhi)
