Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500: Launch Image Gallery

Royal Enfield has launched its scrambler-styled motorcycle, the Bullet Trials 500 in India. The bike has been priced at Rs 2.07 lakhs (ex-showroom) which is a premium of around Rs 20,000 over the standard Bullet 500; the model it is based on. The Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500 gets several aesthetic and mechanical elements which make it more inclined towards off-road riding. Now that it has finally been launched, let’s take a closer look at the motorcycle in this launch photo gallery.

Starting up front, while the Trials 500 retains the round headlamp of the standard Bullet, it gets additional housing for protection giving it a rugged look.

It gets a tall braced handlebar which provides a comfortable riding stance. Meanwhile, the brace helps prevent the handlebar from flexing during off-road riding.

The teardrop-shaped fuel tank of the Bullet Trials 500 features chrome on either side which sets it apart from the Trials 350.

It also gets green-painted chassis, main stand, swingarm and sub-frame to further differentiate it from the Trials 350 which features red accents.

The motorcycle doesn’t get a rear seat but instead receives a carrier which can be used to mount luggage.

It sports a tweaked subframe which is positioned higher and is accompanied by a short fender. This set up gives the motorcycle a taller stance. The ground clearance, however, remains the same at 135mm.

The rear gets a distinctive look owing to the up-swept exhaust pipe while the tail lamp boasts of the same design as the now-discontinued Continental GT.

The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels which come shod with CEAT Progrip dual-purpose tyres. These set of rubbers should make it more capable for rough terrain.

Powering the Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500 is the same 498cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which churns out 27.2bhp at 5,100rpm and 40.9Nm at 3,800rpm.

The suspension setup is the same as the standard model; telescopic forks on the front and twin gas charged shock absorber at the rear.

Braking is taken care of by a 280mm disc on the front and 240mm disc at the rear while both are assisted by dual-channel ABS.

Considering its styling, the Royal Enfield Bullet Trials 500 has no direct competition in India. However, in terms of pricing, it goes up against the Mahindra Mojo XT300 and the UM Renegade Classic.
