Royal Enfield has expanded its portfolio by launching two new scrambler motorcycles today. Christened the Bullet Trials 350 and the Bullet Trials 500, these motorcycles are based on the modern version of the company’s oldest running model, the Bullet. The motorcycles have been priced at Rs 1.62 lakhs for the Bullet Trials 350 and Rs 2.07 lakhs for the Bullet Trials 500, both ex-showroom, India.

Using the underpinnings of the Bullet, both motorcycles have been styled keeping in mind the scrambler motorcycles of the 50s and 60s that were used for off-roading. In the case of the Bullet Trials, both motorcycles feature a handlebar brace, fork gaiters, protective housing for the headlamp and a luggage rack instead of the pillion seat. The design is complete with an upswept exhaust, a short chrome fender at the front and a raised tail section.

In order to give the motorcycles a distinctive look, the 350 receives a red coloured chassis while the 500 sports a green coloured chassis. Also, the 350 receives a single-tone paint job while the 500 gets chrome treatment on the fuel tank and pinstriping. The fuel tank on both motorcycles features a 3D ‘Royal Enfield’ logo which adds to the overall appeal of the motorcycle. Besides that, Royal Enfield also has an extensive list of accessories comprising of several chrome components.

The Bullet Trials 350 is powered by a 348cc unit that produces 19.8bhp and 28Nm. The Bullet Trials 500, on the other hand, receives a 499cc mill that registers 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed gearbox for both motorcycles.

The motorcycles are suspended by telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back. For braking, the bikes employ the same 280mm disc up front with a two-piston caliper and 240mm disc with a single-piston caliper for the rear. The braking system is equipped with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycles ride on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres.

Deliveries of the motorcycles will begin from tomorrow starting with 117 dealers.
