Triumph Motorcycles issues recall of nearly 1000 motorcycles in India

- Recall issued to rectify damage to main wiring harness due to contact with the clutch cable

- Around 1000 motorcycles affected in India

- Street Scrambler, Street Twin, Bonneville T100 and Bonneville T120 affected by the recall

Following the recall issued by Triumph Motorcycles in the US, the Indian arm of the British bike maker has also announced a recall of motorcycles manufactured between 2016 and 2019. The recall is owing to a fault in the securing guide for the clutch cable in the headstock tidy.

Four motorcycles belonging to the Triumph’s modern classic series portfolio have been affected by the recall namely the Street Scrambler, Street Twin, Bonneville T100 and the Bonneville T120. In India, around 1000 motorcycles have been affected by the recall, while internationally 68,686 motorcycles have been affected.

According to the recall, the clutch cable on these motorcycles can come in contact with the main wiring harness which can cause malfunctioning of the headlamp, indicators and also cause the engine to stall. To avoid any of this, Triumph will be replacing the securing guide of the clutch cable as well as the main wiring harness of the recalledrmotorcycles with an updated one.

Owners of the affected motorcycles are requested to get in touch with a Triumph dealer in order to carry out the corrective procedure under this recall. All recall-related work will be carried out at free of cost.
