2019 Triumph Street Twin - What else can you buy

Triumph has updated its modern classic offering, the Street Twin for 2019 and launched it in India. Priced at Rs 7.45 lakhs, the 2019 Triumph Street Twin has seen changes in its looks, cycle parts and powerplant. Taking its price into consideration, there are six alternatives in the Indian market which are worth considering. Let's check them out.

In this price range, there are two modern naked streetfighters from Kawasaki and Suzuki. The former has the Z900 which has replaced the Z800 and the Z1000 in the Indian market. Retailed at Rs 7.68 lakhs, the Kawasaki Z900 boasts of a combative styling and produces 123.3bhp and 98.6Nm from its 948cc, inline-four motor. Its closest rival is the Suzuki GSX-S750 which makes slightly less power at 114bhp from its 749cc, inline-four mill and comes with a price tag of Rs 7.51 lakhs.

Now, if adventure and touring is on your agenda, both the aforementioned manufacturers have products for these purposes as well. Suzuki has the V-Strom 650 XT which takes design inspiration from its litre-class sibling. Powering the motorcycle is a 645cc, twin-cylinder motor that is capable of making 71bhp and 62Nm. On the other hand, Kawasaki offers the Versys 650 which features a 649cc, twin-cylinder, 67.4bhp, 64Nm motor. While the Suzuki V-Storm 650 XT costs Rs 7.51 lakhs, the Kawasaki Versys 650 is on the affordable side at Rs 6.69 lakhs. In this segment, there’s also a new entrant – the SWM Superdual T which can be bought for Rs 6.5 lakhs. Its 600cc, single cylinder motor pumps out 54bhp of power and 53.5Nm of torque.

In case you are looking for something different from these bikes, take a look at the Ducati Scrambler Icon. Its combination of modern technology and classic appeal demands Rs 7.23 lakhs. What you get is a stylish Scrambler that is powered by an 803cc, twin-cylinder, air-cooled engine that belts out 73.9bhp and 68Nm of torque.
