TVS has launched the ABS-equipped version of the Apache RTR 160 4V at Rs 98,644 (ex-showroom, Pune). Owing to this update, the bike demands a premium of Rs 6,999 over the non-ABS version. The safety net, however, has been brought only for the fuel-injected version while the carburetor trim is expected to get it in the next few weeks. Now, although the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V ABS is an enticing product, we list down alternatives one can consider that are similarly priced.
Starting from the same brand, TVS itself offers the Apache RTR 180 ABS which is more affordable at Rs 95,392. It is the most affordable bike with dual-channel ABS and is powered by a 177cc, air-cooled motor that produces 17.3bhp and 15.5Nm. Meanwhile, the company also has the feature-rich Apache RTR 200 4V which gets a 197.7cc, oil-cooled engine that is good for 20.7bhp and 18.1Nm. The pricing of the Apache RTR 200 4V starts from Rs 95,436 and goes all the way up to Rs 1.11 lakhs for the top-end variant.
In a similar budget, one can also check out the Bajaj Pulsar 220F which gets a bigger 220cc, 21bhp and 19Nm powerplant. However, there’s also the Pulsar 180 and Pulsar NS160 on the more affordable side which are priced at Rs 85,011 and Rs 85,600, respectively. Moving on to Yamaha, the Japanese bikemaker has recently updated its portfolio with the launch of the FZ V 3.0 and FZ S V 3.0 which cost Rs 95,000 and Rs 97,000, respectively. Both motorcycles pack in a 149cc mill that produces 13bhp and 12.8Nm.
One can also choose between the naked Suzuki Gixxer and the fully-faired Gixxer SF. Both bikes are powered by a 155cc motor which churns out 14bhp and 14Nm of torque. While the Gixxer ABS comes for Rs 90,058, the fuel-injected version of the Gixxer SF ABS is priced at Rs 1.02 lakhs. Honda offers the CB Hornet 160R in this price range which gets a 162.7cc, air-cooled engine that pumps out 14.9bhp and 14.5Nm. Meanwhile, at Rs 91,600, Hero has the Xtreme 200R which incorporates a bigger 199.6cc, air-cooled mill that is good for 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm.
