5 things our review revealed about the 2017 Hero Glamour Fi

When our editor rode the 2017 Glamour Fi in Argentina he came back impressed. And now, it is the same story in India. The 2017 version turned out to be a path breaking product from Hero MotoCorp, which has been trying hard to retain its numero uno position in the growing 125cc segment. Here’s a quick overview of the five things about the new Glamour that caught our attention.

Styling

This is easily the stand out feature of the new Glamour. The overall styling is new and definitely the best in the segment. In fact, this bike has proportions of a 150cc motorcycle and that is bound to attract a lot of buyers into the showroom. A lot of focus has gone on the fuel tank and the tail section. There’s a rear tyre hugger too, to give more bulk at the rear.

Excellent commuter

It’s one of the easiest commuter bikes we’ve ridden. The perfect upright sitting ergonomics and light front makes it easy to fight the dreading traffic. The new Glamour is almost 3kg lighter than the previous generation, thanks to usage of lighter body panels and lighter frame. In case of panic braking, the front disc brake has enough power to bring the bike to a halt, safely.

Motor

Firstly, it’s not a Honda engine. This 124cc single-cylinder motor has been developed by Hero in-house. The motor is refined, almost vibe free and the power delivery is linear too. However, the fuel-injected Glamour is slower and not as exciting as the carbureted model.

Not a back breaker

The ride quality of the new Glamour is soft and something that will really be appreciated by all the owners. The front gets the traditional forks whereas the rear is five-step adjustable twin shocks. The tuning has been done perfectly for the Indian road conditions.

Pricey

It costs Rs 8688 more than the carbureted version and that’s expensive. Even the CBS version of the Honda CB Shine SP costs less than that. At this price, it is better to look at the carbureted Glamour.
