The Ignitor was launched in 2012, just after the company was rechristened to Hero MotoCorp. The Ignitor and its twin, the CBF Stunner are a part of the competitive 125cc segment, though the former manages to edge ahead in terms of styling, owing to the host of cosmetic updates.
Cosmetic updates like the redesigned body panels, front cowl new graphics and body-coloured rear-view mirror set the Ignitor apart from the Stunner. The bike also gets a digital-analogue instrument console. Despite the styling, the Ignitor is an outright commuter bike. The upright seating position coupled with its light weight make the Ignitor agile and fun to ride in urban stop-go traffic.
The Ignitor is powered by the same air cooled, four stroke 124.7 cc SOHC engine which produces 11bhp and 11Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed constant mesh gearbox. Hero offers the Ignitor with optional disc brakes at the front while the rear wheels only get standard drums.
The Ignitor is offered in five colour schemes- pearl white, vibrant blue, sports red, panther black metallic and flaming orange. Priced at Rs 60,200 for the disc and Rs 58,200 for the drum variant, the Ignitor goes up against other 125cc commuter bikes like the Honda CBF Stunner, Bajaj Pulsar 135LS, Suzuki Slingshot Plus and the Yamaha SS 125.
The ARAI mileage of Hero Ignitor is 55 kmpl. The average of the Ignitor is 50 kmpl, as per the owners of the bike.

It's a very good bike. I have owned this bike for 10 years. I never face any serious problems with my bike, I ride it over 1lakh km. The hero should have to relaunch this bike again. I am fully satisfied with my bike. But my difficulty is finding his parts. It shouldn't available in the market or showroom. Why hero you discontinued this bike? It's such a very reliable bike.

Awesome bike

Since 9 years my bike is awesome and mileage is 62 km per liter. The bike is still roaring in Mysore. But the the color I bought is white, so while using the color is dull. Only changed the chain sprocket twice. The vehicle is very durable and comfortable for long drive, daily I drive 200 km per day. Thanks for hero motors.

This is my first bike. I really love to ride it. Its superb in performance. In style its looks like a sports bike. Mileage is great. Speed is awesome. Maintenance cost is very low. I purchased it in 2015. Since that day no complains. I don't understand why hero moto discontinued such a nice bike?? i urged them please relaunch the ignitor.

Best for city rides
Naveen Kumar
I own this bike since 2013 and completed 65K km till date. According to me, this is the best bike in 125 cc and good for city rides. It shares the same engine with bs3 shine but got 5 gears from unicorn 150. Except fairing parts, all the engine parts are still easily available in the market because of shine. The only downside is its performance on highway and uncomfortable hard seat. I added extra cushion to seat and also used Unicorn chain kit which has 15T sprocket at front rather than 14t stock. This increases top speed, cruising speed and also mileage of bike. This engine is not available in the market on any bike because honda upgraded its engine on shine. But parts are still available. Hero should plan the relaunch of this same bike with a new higher Cc engine 150 or 160. This bike is very nimble in city rides and an excellent choice for quick spins and also grabs attention.

Tips for other riders
For those who own this bike, use CB unicorn 150 chain kit (15T sprocket). It will increase cruising speed and mileage because fuel prices are very high. And don't worry about using this chain kit. It wont cause any problems to engine. Because the original bike stunner was launched with 16T sprocket on its FI version while hero used only 14T on carb variant. So 15T is still good and works well.
