Harley-Davidson is on a roll. After tasting success with the Street 750 – the made in India motorcycle, the American manufacturer has launched the Breakout bike for the Indian market. The fourth in the Softail range, the Breakout has been inspired from the classic drag bikes of the 50s and the 60s.
The Breakout is powered by 1688cc air-cooled twin cam motor which churns out 129Nm of peak torque at 3,000rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox that transfers power to the rear wheel via belt drive. Braking power comes from the new 4-piston fixed caliper with 32 and 34 mm pistons, premium caliper piston coating to minimise initial displacement and a larger 300 mm rotor, while Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is standard on this bike.
The Harley-Davidson Breakout will be assembled at company’s Bawal plant in Haryana and will be available at all dealerships. The Breakout is also the first motorcycle from Harley-Davidson’s India line-up to offer a Hard Candy Custom metal flake colour Quicksilver Flake.
