  • Its a premium bike but hell yeah looks gorgeous

    Naveen

Well, i already own Jawa 42 its a very good bike, but this ktm looks are awesome and we don't have to worry about quality, it will be always be good. But main thing is we have to consider 3 things, 1) price of the bike 2) it should suit our personality and needs (when you sit on a bike it should suit you) 3) maintenance of the bike. Well as per price of the bike its almost 4L so many people cannot afford but they can afford by financial options, for that you should have min 25k salary in bank account. My main suggestion is go with 1.2L down payment and 30 months EMI so you don't have to brag the EMI payments forever, your EMI will be 10k per month. Next thing is it should suite you that means its gonna suite almost every one, well every one asks about 855mm seat height. As per my experience you dont have to worry abou it if you are 165cm and above height because the bikes weight is less so it will be easy to manage, but in heavy traffic conditions little practice needed. As per my suggestion if you are 5.5 ft you can ride any bike with 800mm seat height in combination with 200 kg bikes, buy you can say this 390 adventure is having 855mm? But here bike weight is lower than 200kg. So dont worry about it. But its better to go and check in the showroom and sit on it ,feel it. Another one is maintenance, that means service cost and wearing part replacement, well i dont think most of us is going to do 500/1000km every day. Mostly we do like 20km each day for our needs, and if we are buying this 390 adventure that means probably we have spare bike for daily commute. But still maintenance matters so it will be like 3000rs for service for each visit, and spare parts will be almost same cost like other bikes above 2L price tag. Electronics will be little costly.
But above all this is going to be my 2nd bike.
You need to clean chain regularly otherwise you will get irritating sounds, mileage will be avg 25 to 30/35 depending on the riding style, but dont worry it will give you 28/30 in traffic conditions as well. High way you can expect more than 30. If you like bikes you wont be hesitating about cost, seat height, maintenance and all, you will find a way to enjoy raiding. It doesn't matter how much cost it is or how much cheap it is. Bike will be bike.

    Tips for other riders

Every 6 months or 6000 km do the service, clean chain every month or every 1000/1500 km, don't keep your bike in rain. Try not to ride too long once fuel meter blinks reserve icon, always try to keep petrol above reserve, because bike runs smoothly if its like that, other wise you will feel smoothness fading.

  • Height problem

    Ajinkya

Really wanted to buy 390 Adventure but disappointed during the test ride because of the 855mm seat height which is really not for anyone below 5.8ft height and I am 5.5 :( which made it impossible for me to ride the bike in traffic. KTM is maybe launching height lowering kit which will reduce seat height by 25mm but its only on KTM US Power Parts website and the showroom doesn't know anything about it so Might need to go with 390duke instead.

  • Excellent highway machine

    Huseini Surti

was touring on the unicorn 150 for 2 years now, though an excellent motorcycle, a need for an upgrade was felt.Booked ktm adventure 390 ( orange ) on 13/01/2020 with rs. 5000.00p , took delivery on the 17th of february 2020. Ktm adventure 390 for a person who has ridden a unicorn 150 will take a lot of getting used to. Firstly the gearing seems too tall, frequent gear changes required to ride it in dense or even moderate traffic.Having said that it is a fun motorcycle on less congested roads and highways, you can pull this bike to eternity. On the looks front, i felt the front better looking then the rear. The seat is very very comfortable for long rides and gives the right amount of support. The mileage is in between 32 to 36 km/l on the highways if ridden between 80kmph to 100kmph with in between sprints. It is more than wiling to turn into corners, has quick throttle response ( be careful pillion riders, hold on ), making overtaking a breeze. At the price point it is a definite buy.

I bought the bike few days before the corona virus lock down . The customer service was really poor . The bike looks classy . It doesn't look like a 390 cc bike when compared to the rest of the bike in the segment . The bike struggles in lower rpms. The mid range is when the torque kicks in . Suspension setup is poor, maybe because the bike i used before was a himalayan. The bike is light and nimble .

    Ferenc Szij

Pros: Great riding experience, very good balance, superb brakes, amazing handling on and off-road. I ride 80% in the city and 20 % off-road, performance ok on the highway too.
Cons: Quality issues, screen has vapor inside after 6 months, changed in warranty. Oil pressure error code after 3 weeks in low rpm range, oil pressure sensor changed in warranty.

    Tony Stark

It's the best in class for the price and has a lot to offer which can be seen only on bikes with double the price tag
Pros: Switchable and cornering ABS works spectacularly. Front travel suspension is smooth, acceleration is magnificent and the ride quality is excellent. This is however not a perfect bike and had quite a few drawbacks.
Cons: Handle height is low, seat height is too high which makes off-roading difficult and commute uncomfortable. But handle raisers can make things easy. Low end torque is lagging and bike struggles in heavy traffic and off-road at lower rpm. Stiffer back suspension and small wind shield.

Some people are grumbling about seat height but they should think how bike will get ground clearance of they will not raise seat height....This bike is flawless, quality is awesome...Only problem is alloy wheel but it does it job well. I use it occasionally for offoading and it performs extremely good. It shock absorbers provide confidence on road and off-road. I will highly recommend it.

A bike for beginners wanting to explore beautiful India. Good mileage, good suspension. Awesome feeling when you rev it up. good for off road, great budget bike with all the premium specs, sturdy and reliable. Power shifter traction control abs and a cool display.
Cons- A little bigger for guys 5 ft. 4 or less but can adjust once they ride it for a while. Can heat up sometimes in the traffic but who cares if you like touring. Sometimes low torque issues but manageable.
