The KX250F is a hard-core motocross motorcycle. The bike sports a 249cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine which gets a few updates for the 2018 model. The engine now sports a new intake boot, camshaft and cylinder head with a revised compression ratio. The bike also gets a new exhaust header with a bigger and longer piping to give the bike a wider power band across its rev range. The KX250F’s engine also gets a new throttle body and fuel injector to increase torque.
The bike still uses perimeter frame as the outgoing model. Damping duties are taken care of by 48mm Showa front forks with separate function and a Uni-Trak suspension setup at the rear. The KX250F features three engine maps -standard, hard and soft, which can be tuned with DFI connectors while Kawasaki is also offering revised ECU settings.
Additionally, the manufacturer also offers an optional KX Fi calibration kit. This kit allows one to select up to seven separate engine maps. The KX 250F also features a launch control system. Braking is done by 270mm petal discs in the front while the rear gets a 240mm disc.
The Kawasaki KX250F comes to India via the CBU route and is not road legal. This means that it can only be ridden on a dirt track.
