The KLX450R is essentially a dirt bike with lights, indicators, and instrumentation. This makes it road-legal.
The 2019 model year for the KLX450R gets a few graphical changes. The all-digital instrumentation is basic for the price, with a speedo, odo, twin tripmeters and a clock. It is powered by a 449cc DOHC liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Both a kick start and an electric start are on offer.
48mm upside down front forks and preload-adjustable uni-trak rear suspension suspend the KLX450R. Petal discs perform braking duties; a 250mm front disc and 240mm rear disc are present. Kerb weight stands at a featherlight 126kg, and the fuel tank holds 8 litres.
The KLX250R is a road-legal motorcycle – but it is a purpose-built dirt bike that competes with the likes of the Suzuki RM-Z450 in the Indian market.
