Jawa 42 FJ Mileage

I bought the Jawa 42 FJ because of its classic design and road presence, but my experience has been below expectations. The bike looks stunning and definitely turns heads, but when it comes to comfort and reliability, it falls short. The ride quality is quite stiff, and I often feel vibrations at higher speeds. The engine performance is not very smooth, and gear shifts could have been better.
Servicing and maintenance are also on the expensive side, and spare parts availability is an issue in some areas. Mileage is average compared to similar bikes in this segment. The build quality is decent, but I faced minor issues like rusting on metal parts within a few months.
Overall, it’s a good-looking bike but not ideal for long-term use or daily commuting. If Jawa can improve comfort, service support, and engine refinement, it could become a much better choice.

Pros- Bike power & performance were good, comfortable in a city ride, and Good pickup helps you reduce stress on acceleration during traffic.
Cons- Mileage was not at all expected range, it's giving an average of 25 in city ride & 30 in Long drive. A better company can address the mileage issue & work on resolving the issue.

First Impression & Looks:
Amazing! It really stands out, especially since all RE bikes look the same.
Build Quality & Comfort:
Quite good overall, but some bolts have rusting issues.
Performance & Engine:
In its price segment of retro bikes, it has no match. The engine is powerful, and the brakes are amazing.
Handling & Ride Quality:
A bit hard to handle in the city, but very good for highway rides.
Braking & Safety:
Excellent braking performance. Compared to RE bikes, which usually have very poor braking, this one is outstanding.
Features & Technology:
Almost nothing in terms of features or modern tech. Very disappointing for this price point.
Mileage & Running Cost:
I rev it a lot and ride hard, so I get around 22–25 km/l. But it doesn’t bother me much because I enjoy the roar of the engine.
Reliability & Practicality:
After 6 months, I haven’t faced any reliability issues. However, practicality is poor—it’s very difficult to handle in traffic, the pillion seat has almost no space, and the seat itself feels quite short.
Final Verdict:
If you mostly ride alone or on highways, just go for it—you will not regret it. But for city use, I’d suggest looking at other options.

First, the dealers were fraudulent ( Shri Ambe Auto Sales Etawah). They committed fraud regarding accessories; they have installed old 42 bike accessories, mileage is bad, 20kmpl after the second service, the Clutch plate went within 4000 kms, the petrol tank cap is not properly finished can't open smoothly. Very disappointed as it was my first bike with high hopes.
