One of the worst bikes ever bought. Big '0' resale value, performance was very bad, no service center in Kannur, spare parts are very, very costly, and vehicle maintenance was too high. On the whole, I would sincerely advise bike lovers not to purchase JAWA bikes. I have used multiple bikes, but this one was the worst.

After the brand warranty expired, the overall quality and reliability of the vehicle have become extremely disappointing. Almost every 2,000 kilometres, a new problem appears, making the vehicle expensive and frustrating to maintain. Instead of providing a dependable ownership experience, it constantly requires repairs and replacement of parts that should normally last much longer.
The condition of many components has deteriorated rapidly. Parts seem to wear out far earlier than expected, raising concerns about their durability and manufacturing quality. What is even more disappointing is the poor quality of the electronic components. Many of the electrical systems feel unreliable and are prone to malfunction. Switches, sensors, buttons, and electronic controls appear to be made from low-grade plastic, giving the impression that cost-cutting has taken priority over quality and long-term performance.
The plastic materials used throughout the vehicle also seem to be of inferior quality. Several components have become loose, worn, or damaged within a short period of use. Instead of feeling sturdy and well-built, they appear fragile and cheap. For a brand that promises quality and customer satisfaction, this level of durability is unacceptable.
Frequent visits to the service centre have resulted in unnecessary expenses and wasted time. A customer expects a vehicle to remain reliable even after the warranty period, but in this case, the ownership experience has been filled with repeated breakdowns and constant repairs. A product should not begin to fail consistently immediately after its warranty expires.
I expect the manufacturer to investigate these recurring issues seriously and improve the quality of both mechanical and electronic components. Customers invest significant money in the brand with the expectation of durability, reliability, and safety. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite, leaving me disappointed with the product's quality and overall performance.

Overall experience is very pathetic. So many major issues. I changed the alternate coil twice after use in 4 years,38000 km, accesories and part many time not avilable, service centre is very few; technical staff is very less, waiting period for bike service is taking too much time. Overall experience compared to other bikes is very bad.

    • Jawa 42

The Jawa 42 stands out as a stylish and retro-inspired motorcycle that blends classic design with modern engineering. It carries forward the legacy of the iconic Jawa brand while appealing to today’s riders who want both performance and aesthetics.
One of the biggest highlights of the Jawa 42 is its design. The bike features a minimalistic, neo-retro look with a sculpted fuel tank, matte finish options, and a compact stance. It feels youthful compared to the standard Jawa models, making it popular among younger riders.
In terms of performance, the Jawa 42 is powered by a 293cc liquid-cooled engine that delivers smooth acceleration and refined power output. It performs well in city conditions and can handle highway rides comfortably. The exhaust note is deep and satisfying, adding to the riding experience.
The handling is another strong point. The bike feels light and easy to maneuver, especially in traffic. Its suspension setup offers decent comfort on rough roads, though it may feel slightly stiff on bigger bumps.
However, the Jawa 42 is not without flaws. Some users have reported issues with service quality and availability of spare parts in certain areas. The fuel efficiency is average compared to competitors, and vibrations can be noticeable at higher speeds.
Overall, the Jawa 42 is a great choice for riders who value style, brand heritage, and a unique riding experience. It may not be the most practical option in its segment, but it definitely stands out on the road.

The Jawa 42 is a stylish, neo-retro motorcycle praised for its peppy 294.73cc engine, agile handling, and distinctive exhaust note, making it a strong competitor in the 300-350cc segment. It offers an engaging, fast ride suitable for city commutes and weekend trips. However, owners frequently report high maintenance costs, inconsistent service quality, and a stiff, hard-to-find neutral.

    • Not happy with service centre

      Sagar Kanu

Bikes are good, but service centres are the worst. They don't have any module of all parts available in their service centre, even if they don't order for a month. My bike has stopped working for 1 month. I'm waiting for one small part of my bike & following up continuously with the service centre across Mumbai. No one has that one part of the bike, i.e. Charger for Jawa 42

I’ve been riding the Jawa 42 for a while now, and it’s been a great experience. The bike feels powerful yet smooth, especially in city traffic. I love its retro look and the deep exhaust sound. It handles well and feels stable on highways, too. Mileage isn’t the best, but the overall riding feel makes it worth it. What I enjoy most is the attention the bike gets on the road. The seating posture is comfortable for daily rides, and the suspension handles rough roads fairly well. Overall, it feels like a perfect mix of classic charm and modern performance.

    • “Jawa 42 – Retro Style, Modern Feel, Dil Se Ride”

      Naman

Jawa 42 ek aisi bike hai jo pehli nazar mein hi dil jeet leti hai. Iska retro look, round headlamp, chrome finish aur classic design purane zamane ki yaadein dila deta hai, lekin jab aap isse ride karte ho tab pata chalta hai ki ye bike poori tarah se modern hai. Road par Jawa 42 alag hi presence banati hai, log khud notice karte hain aur compliments milna common ho jata hai.
Performance ki baat karein to Jawa 42 ka engine kaafi smooth aur responsive hai. City riding ke liye ye bike perfect hai kyunki pickup acha hai aur traffic mein handle karna easy lagta hai. Highway par bhi ye bike stable feel deti hai, especially cruising speeds par. Exhaust sound ekdum deep aur classy hai, jo har throttle ke saath riding ka maza double kar deti hai.
Comfort ke mamle mein Jawa 42 decent kaam karti hai. Seating position comfortable hai aur daily commute ke liye bilkul suitable hai. Suspension thoda stiff lag sakta hai on bad roads, lekin overall control aur balance kaafi acha hai. Braking system bhi reliable hai aur confidence deta hai, chahe city ho ya open roads.
Jawa 42 un logon ke liye perfect choice hai jo sirf ek bike nahi, balki ek emotion chahte hain. Haan, maintenance aur service experience thoda improve ho sakta hai, lekin agar aapko retro looks ke saath modern performance chahiye, to Jawa 42 ek solid option hai. Ye bike har ride ko special bana deti hai aur owner ko ek alag hi pride feel karati hai. 🏍️🔥

    • Killer performance best design

      Paranjal Bhatt

Design-wise, it is one of the best bike only minor issue is in the servicing experience.
The biggest strength of the Jawa 42 is its engine character. The 293 cc motor is smooth, torquey, and extremely enjoyable in city riding. Low-end and mid-range pulls are excellent, which means less gear shifting and stress-free traffic rides. On highways, cruising at 90–100 km/h feels stable and relaxed. It is not a high-speed machine, but it was never meant to be one.
Ride quality is comfortable for Indian roads. The suspension handles bad patches well, though sharp bumps are still felt. The riding posture is upright and relaxed, making it suitable for longer rides without wrist or back pain. Seat comfort is decent, but the pillion seat is average at best.
In terms of design, the Jawa 42 stands out. It looks premium, classic, and modern at the same time. Paint quality and exhaust note are genuinely impressive. People still turn their heads, which says a lot.
Now the honest downsides. Mileage is average—expect around 30–35 km/l in mixed riding. Heat management in slow traffic could be better. Service quality depends heavily on the dealership; this inconsistency is a real issue. Spare parts availability has improved, but it’s still not as effortless as Japanese brands.
Build quality is good but not flawless. Minor rusting and finishing issues can appear if maintenance is ignored. This bike demands care.
      Final verdict:
The Jawa 42 is for riders who value feel, sound, and character over outright performance or practicality. If you want a soulful, stylish motorcycle and are willing to maintain it properly, the Jawa 42 is deeply satisfying. If reliability, anxiety, or low maintenance is your top priority, look

The buying experience is good. Riding on highways feels like heaven. White matte looks fabulous and speed with pick up is good. Service and spare parts cost simply to sat low maintenance. Some parts may rust quickly but very strong with iron. City driving may give some leg pain but it also feels good for bike lovers

Jawa 42 ek aisi bike hai jo pehli nazar mein hi dil jeet leti hai. Iska retro look, round headlamp, chrome finish aur classic design purane zamane ki yaadein dila deta hai, lekin jab aap isse ride karte ho tab pata chalta hai ki ye bike poori tarah se modern hai. Road par Jawa 42 alag hi presence banati hai, log khud notice karte hain aur compliments milna common ho jata hai.
Performance ki baat karein to Jawa 42 ka engine kaafi smooth aur responsive hai. City riding ke liye ye bike perfect hai kyunki pickup acha hai aur traffic mein handle karna easy lagta hai. Highway par bhi ye bike stable feel deti hai, especially cruising speeds par. Exhaust sound ekdum deep aur classy hai, jo har throttle ke saath riding ka maza double kar deti hai.
Comfort ke mamle mein Jawa 42 decent kaam karti hai. Seating position comfortable hai aur daily commute ke liye bilkul suitable hai. Suspension thoda stiff lag sakta hai on bad roads, lekin overall control aur balance kaafi acha hai. Braking system bhi reliable hai aur confidence deta hai, chahe city ho ya open roads.

    • Retro Style, Raw Sound, Pure Joy
