Honda Transalp XL750 Summary

Price: Honda Transalp XL750 price for its variant - Transalp XL750 Standard starts at Rs. 10,99,990. The mentioned Transalp XL750 price is the average ex-showroom.

Honda Transalp XL750 is a adventure bike available in only 1 variant and 2 colours. The Honda Transalp XL750 is powered by 755cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 90.5 bhp and a torque of 75 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Honda Transalp XL750 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Transalp XL750 bike weighs 208 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 16.9 liters.

Honda has unveiled its new middleweight adventure tourer motorcycle, the XL750 Transalp.

This new model from the Japanese manufacturer is powered by a 755cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crank. This motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox and it produces a maximum output of 90bhp at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 75Nm at 7,250rpm. The company will also offer an A2 variant of the Transalp in the European market with a maximum output of 47bhp.

The electronic rider aids on the motorcycle comprise ride-by-wire throttle and five riding modes that affect the engine power, engine braking, and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) or traction control system with integrated wheelie control. There are four levels of engine power (EP), three levels of engine brake (EB), two levels of ABS, and five levels of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) available. The HSTC and rear ABS can also be switched off.

The XL750 Transalp is built around a lightweight steel diamond frame and it uses Showa-sourced 43mm SFF-CATM upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. This off-road-biased motorcycle rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. There are two tyre options – Metzeler Karoo Street and Dunlop Mixtour. Meanwhile, the anchoring setup on this adventure tourer comprises twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back.

The feature list includes full-LED lighting and a five-inch TFT colour display with support for Android and iOS devices via the Honda Smartphone Voice Control system. The motorcycle also gets auto-cancel indicators and Emergency Stop Signal technology to warn other road users of sudden braking.

The styling cues comprise a single-pod headlight, semi-fairing, a tall windscreen, a single-piece saddle, and a side-slung exhaust. Internationally, the XL750 Transalp will be available in three colours – Matte Iridium Gray Metallic, Matte Ballistic Black Metallic, and a modern interpretation of the Ross White Tricolour.

The Indian launch details of the new XL750 Transalp are not available yet. We may see it arrive in our market in mid to late 2023 with an ex-showroom price tag of around Rs 13 lakh.

Honda Transalp XL750 Review

  • Good Things

    • 755cc engine offers plenty of low-end performance
    • Comes with five riding modes
    • Affordable after sales service
  • Could be Better

    • Misses out on tubeless wheels
    • Only sold through Bigwing showrooms

BikeWale's Take

The Transalp XL750 is a younger cousin of the famous Africa Twin. This adventure bike is known for its accessible performance, practicality and reliability. However, there are a few things that are missing like the tubeless wheels and a big this size should have got it.

Honda Transalp XL750 Expert Opinion

Exactly seven years ago, Honda introduced their first big adventure bike in India – it was called the Africa Twin and it was launched at Rs 12.9 lakh.

      Honda Transalp 750: More Than Just a Motorcycle

      5 weeks ago

      Rudy

      The Journey to the Right Bike:
      For me this wasn’t just about buying a motorcycle—it was about finding a companion that would stick with me through weekend getaways, long hauls, and the kind of rides where you lose track of time.
      I looked at a bunch of bikes: the Triumph Tiger 850 caught my eye with its aggressive stance, and the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE ticked the budget-friendly box.
      But neither quite gave me that “this is it” feeling.
      The Transalp 750? That one felt right in my gut.
      Why I Chose the Transalp :
      It wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment decision. I spent weeks comparing specs, watching reviews at 2 a.m., and imagining myself on each bike. But the Transalp felt like it understood me before I even swung a leg over it.
      * Comfort: It’s like it was made with my back and knees in mind. The riding posture just works for me.
      * Versatility: I ride a mix—city commutes, weekend sprints, and offroads, highway stretches. This bike handles it all without flinching.
      * Value: With everything it offers, I couldn’t find anything else that made as much sense for the money.
      * Trust: I’ve owned Hondas before (cars and scooters), and they’ve always had my back. That confidence carried into this decision.
      * Convenience: The BigWing dealership literally opened up near my place—felt like the universe giving me a sign.
      Buying the Transalp – A Stress-Free Ride
      From the moment I reached out to the Honda dealership in Cochin, things just fell into place. They were quick and helpful, and they even gave me a test ride in Thrissur. The whole process—from paying the token to final paperwork—was smooth.
      They even sent me a video of my bike before delivery. That felt oddly special, like seeing a newborn’s first picture. I handled the insurance separately (saved a bit there), skipped RSA, but did get a free extended warranty. And just like that, by October, the Transalp came home.
      That First Ride Feeling
      That first ride after bringing it home? It was pure magic.
      The engine hummed like it had known me forever. It didn’t roar for attention—it just responded, smoothly and confidently. her handling was intuitive, and I found myself grinning under my helmet like a kid. It felt like I had unlocked a new chapter.
      Mileage and Real-World Fuel Efficiency
      One of the pleasant surprises has been how fuel-efficient it is. On my first maiden trip—from Cochin to Bangalore (a good 500+ km ride)—I got around 24 km/l even cruising between 90–130 km/h. Way better than what I was expecting for a bike this size.
      Every subsequent trip has given me an avg of 22-26, depending on the spirit of Riding.
      Built for the Long Haul—and a Bit of Dust
      The Transalp isn’t just a city slicker. On long rides, it feels planted and comfy. The wide tank gives you a solid range (close to 400 km per fill), and I never feel rushed to stop for fuel.
      While it’s not a hardcore off-roader, I’ve already had a few light trail sessions and it handled them gracefully. It’s like a dog that’s been trained but still loves running free in the wild.
      Maintenance and Upgrades
      So far, it’s been easy on the wallet and even easier to love. Already completed 2 services at the time of writing this review—Extremely economical given the vehicle category .
      Upgrades I've added so far :
      * H&B Motech crash, sump & engine guards (for peace of mind)
      * Charging port (for maps & nav)
      * Future Eyes & HJG 4 unit aux setup
      * Barkbusters
      * SW Motech main stand
      * Saddle stay H&B
      The Emotional Bit :
      The Transalp 750 is more than just metal and horsepower. It’s become a part of my life, almost like a trusted sibling who always shows up on time. I’ve had some quiet moments with it already—watching sunrises on open roads, carving corners just for the fun of it, or simply parking it and turning back for that one last look.
      This bike makes me want to plan more rides, see more places, and just be on the road more.
      Learnings since owning It :
      * It’s super stable even in strong winds.
      * The suspension is incredibly forgiving, soaking up potholes and bad roads like a champ.
      * Brakes? Sharp, confidence-inspiring.
      * Despite its size, it’s easy to maneuver in tight spaces.
      * The tank gives you solid range—about 400 km on a full tank.

      For off-road it's a very good bike on the road also
      It's a good performance bike. Gear shifting and pick-up are very good. I have been riding for the last 8 months and experience my bike like a white horse. As she has good comfort and long-lasting confidence. From my, it's a mini African twin. We need to convert tube tires to tubeless then it will happen like the African twin
