The Honda SP125 is a popular 125cc motorcycle designed for riders who want a balance of fuel efficiency, comfort, and reliable performance. With its sporty yet simple design, the bike appeals to both young riders and people who need a dependable vehicle for daily commuting.
The SP125 comes with a 125cc BS6 engine that delivers smooth and refined performance. One of Honda’s strengths is engine refinement, and this bike reflects that well. The engine produces minimal vibrations, making rides comfortable even during longer journeys. Gear shifting is smooth and light, which helps a lot while riding through city traffic.
One of the biggest highlights of the Honda SP125 is its impressive fuel efficiency. Depending on riding style and road conditions, the bike can deliver around 55–65 km/l mileage. This makes it a cost-effective option for students, office workers, and daily commuters who want to save on fuel expenses.

    • The Commuter's best trade off!!

      Priyanshu Sarkar

In summary, this bike fulfils its function at a 9/10 level. Was seeking a relaxed everyday commute, highway journeys, and significant comfort. Was unsure about choosing between XtremeR 125 and SP 125. Xtreme is sportier, boasting abs, bigger tyres, and additional features, which result in reduced mileage. The Hornet 125 also shares comparable advantages and disadvantages with the Xtreme. However, I mainly prioritised mileage over other considerations, which led me to conclude for SP 125.
Riding 50 kilometres daily isn't too exhausting if you’re by yourself. The comfort level for both the rider and the pillion decreases when travelling the same distance together. Excellent technology is utilised for the console, offering A-Z information and characteristics. While the Honda Navigation scores poorly (2/10), it ought to directly integrate Google Maps into the system (since you ultimately have to depend on Google Maps on your phone). The suspension is quite stiff, making it uncomfortable for extended trips, particularly for the pillion. A stiffer suspension enhances traction for handling and manoeuvrability, even with narrower tyres and, of course, turning if you like leaning. For the DLX variant, the braking is simply outstanding!! If you are accustomed to engine braking, there are no safety worries even when you travel at 80 km/h for abrupt stops. Its reduced Centre of Gravity also offers excellent self-balancing. However, this also raises additional safety issues, as a low curb weight resulting from substandard construction and inferior vulnerable materials, primarily a fibre body, could pose a danger. The affixed rider foot pegs and the poor engine guard, which flex during a fall, may injure your ankles. The construction of front and rear lights!!! Simply the worst of all bikes. Nonetheless, as expected from Honda, the engine is EXCEPTIONAL, smooth and quiet, serene and comforting. Certainly, it provides a touch of a sports bike, not in appearance but regarding its engineering. The highlight of this is the pickup. Top pickup (High torque) in the category, ideal for navigating through traffic. However, with low RPM, there’s reduced power at high speeds (you won't feel the thrust), even though I reached 108 km/h because of its *lightweight*, which again diminishes your confidence at higher velocities. Also, you can easily lean at a 45-degree angle when travelling at an appropriate speed and navigating standard hairpin turns. Not very good for slopes, it can't push beyond 25-30 kmph riding with a pillion on slopes in hills. If you ride aggressively like I do (with highly fluctuating speeds), you could easily get up to 55 kmpl. Steady speeds and increased highway travel can give you up to 75 kmpl. Appearances are good and suitable for everyone, including students and professionals, whether in service or business. Also great for biking with your partner. Also suitable for shorter riders (up to 5'3, though I'm not). CONCLUSION - If you're seeking a commuter that delivers exceptional mileage in the 125cc category, believe me, you can confidently opt for this bike. However, if you're seeking sportier vibes, enhanced safety at higher speeds, and a sense of the machine's heft, you should consider the Xtreme 125R or Hornet 125. Raider is somewhat in the middle but not very desirable at the moment (only its exhaust is what I appreciate). Nonetheless, a 125cc is meant specifically for commuting instead of all these other uses; for sports performance, I’d rather spend more on at least a 160cc or 200cc. All 125cc motorcycles exhibit minor variations that won't significantly affect performance in beast (sports) mode.

    • Honda SP 125 – Mileage King Review

      Puneet Patil

I have been using the Honda SP 125 for daily rides, and my experience has been very good. The bike looks stylish and premium, especially with its sporty design and smooth finishing. The engine performance is excellent for city rides as well as highway trips. It gives very smooth acceleration, and the gear shifting feels light and comfortable.
One of the best things about this bike is its mileage. It gives great fuel efficiency, which makes it perfect for students and office users. The seating position is comfortable, so even long rides do not feel tiring. The digital meter and silent start feature give the bike a modern feel.
The maintenance cost is also low compared to many other bikes in this segment. Honda service experience has been good, and spare parts are easily available. The suspension works nicely on village roads and city speed breakers.
      Pros:
      Excellent mileage
      Stylish design
      Smooth engine performance
      Comfortable riding posture
      Low maintenance cost
      Cons:
Headlight brightness could be better at night
      Slight vibration at high speed
Overall, Honda SP 125 is a reliable and value for money bike. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable and fuel-efficient bike for daily use.

    • Reliable and cheap bike for every day use

      Md Shamim Akhtar

Its really a very reliable vehicle with very few down pointers.
Mainly, parts are very costly front brake pad is around 800 and built quality is somewhat questionable. A few places have developed rust in the chassis and brake not up to mark and the headlight is like a candle in high ways.
The only good point is that it's very efficient and good for city use only.

    • Honda SP 125 very good bike after 4 years but showroom service is bad

      Prashik

I am using Honda SP 125 since last 4 years and it is my daily partner for college. After 4 years of long riding on rough city roads, I can say bike engine is still very powerful. When I change first gear and leave clutch, it feels like a powerful horse running. Pickup is amazing even today and overtaking in heavy city traffic is very easy. Comfort is also best, my office is far but I never get back pain in these 4 years. Best thing is mileage, it easily gives 62 kmpl even in traffic which saves my petrol money.
But two problems I faced in these 4 years. First problem is rear tyre, it is very thin so in rainy season or sudden braking, bike slips sometimes. Second big problem is Honda service center. Staff behaviour is very lazy and unorganised. For simple oil change and washing, they take full day. Also they add extra money in bill for consumables and polishing without asking me. When I ask them, they argue. Bike performance after 4 years is 5 star but Honda service experience is very poor.

      Abhilash

Honda SP125 is a very good choice for daily commuting. The bike gives excellent mileage, the engine feels very smooth and refined, and riding comfort is great even for long city rides. Its sporty design, silent start, digital meter, and low maintenance make it perfect for students, office use, and family purposes. Pickup is decent, braking is confident, and Honda reliability is a big plus. Overall, it’s a stylish, comfortable, and fuel-efficient bike worth buying in the 125cc segment.

    • Honda SP125 Disc user review

      Shivam Singh

3 May 2026, I purchased the Honda SP 125 Disc BT in Pearl Siren Blue color. The color looks very good, and the mileage of the bike is also good. The Bluetooth connectivity and real-time mileage indicator are very useful features, as they help me adjust my riding style to get better fuel economy. The only thing I feel is that the bike height could be slightly higher. I am 5.9 ft tall, and sometimes it feels like I am sitting on a scooter. Other than that everything is good. I purchased the bike from a multi-brand dealer because we got better deal from there, the reason behind purchasing the Honda was that my father has been riding a Honda Activa since 2012; he bought it second-hand, and even today he still uses it daily. Since our experience with Honda has been very good, we decided to go with Honda again for our new bike purchase. The salesperson Santosh was a very good salesperson. He explained all the features properly and supported us throughout the delivery process. If I have to give a rating to the showroom show it would be 8/10. Point 2 has been reduced because the showroom was far from my location.
Tip for new buyers:- Kindly fill XP petrol for engine safety, and always wear a helmet while riding.

    • Bought for daily use, works perfectly. Not powerful, but very reliable

      Datt Patel

I’ve been riding the Honda SP 125 for a while now and I’d rate it 4/5 overall. It’s a very practical bike, especially for daily commuting. The engine is super smooth and refined, which is something Honda always gets right. Even in traffic, it feels easy to handle and doesn’t get tiring.
Mileage is a big plus — I’m consistently getting around 60 km/l, which makes it very budget-friendly. The bike also looks decent with a slightly sporty touch, and the digital meter is useful for everyday info.
However, it’s not perfect. The pickup is a bit on the softer side, so if you’re expecting quick acceleration, it might disappoint. Also, the seat comfort could be better for longer rides.
Overall, it’s a solid, reliable commuter bike. Not exciting, but it does everything you need on a daily basis without any hassle.

    • Honda SP125 — “Smooth ride, great mileage, and perfect bike for daily commuting.”

    • Good bike

      Ameesh Singh

    • Honda SP125 — “Smooth ride, great mileage, and perfect bike for daily commuting.”
