The Honda Rebel 500 is a modern-retro cruiser from the Japanese bike maker in India. The motorcycle is priced at Rs. 5.12 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available exclusively via the BigWing dealerships in Gurugram, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
The Honda Rebel 500 features a simple yet purposeful design, reminiscent of the Japanese cruiser styling. Its minimalist styling includes a round LED headlight, curved fenders, and a classic teardrop-shaped 11.2-litre fuel tank. What elevates its aesthetic is the exposed frame and subframe, which neatly separates the rider and pillion seats, giving it a clean, custom-bike look. It’s offered in a single, sleek Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic colour.
Powering the Rebel 500 is a 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine, producing 46bhp at 8,500rpm and 43.3Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motor is known for its smooth and predictable power delivery, making it equally suitable for city commuting and relaxed highway cruising.
The bike rides on telescopic front forks and Showa twin rear shock absorbers. Braking is managed by a 296mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard fitment for added safety. It rolls on 130/90-16 front and 150/80-16 rear alloy wheels, giving it a low-slung, muscular stance.
In terms of features, the Rebel 500 gets a compact negative-LCD instrument cluster, LED lighting at both ends, and standard dual-channel ABS. Bookings are now open, with deliveries set to begin in June 2025.
Honda Rebel 500 is available in the following colours in India.

The Buying ExperienceIt started with a craving — not just for a motorcycle, but for something that felt like me. Sleek, minimal, a little rebellious. The Honda Rebel 500 stood out like a black pearl in a sea of chrome.- First Impressions: At the showroom, the Rebel looked compact yet muscular. Its low-slung stance and matte finish gave off a custom vibe straight from the factory. I ran my hand over the tank — no decals, no drama, just pure attitude.- Test Ride: The moment I swung my leg over, I felt at home. The seat was low and wide, perfect for my frame. The parallel-twin engine purred with a subtle growl, and the throttle response was smooth. It didn’t scream power — it whispered confidence.- Decision Time: I compared it with Royal Enfield’s Meteor and the Benelli 502C, but the Rebel had something they didn’t: simplicity with soul. I signed the papers that day.🧭 The Ownership JourneyOwning the Rebel 500 is like having a loyal companion — understated, reliable, and always ready to roll.🔧 Performance & Ride Quality- Engine: The 471cc twin is refined and torquey. It’s not a rocket, but it’s got enough grunt to make highway overtakes effortless.- Handling: Thanks to its low center of gravity, it’s incredibly nimble in city traffic. Cornering feels intuitive, and the bike never feels heavy or clumsy.- Comfort: The ergonomics are spot-on. I’ve done 200+ km rides without feeling sore. The seat could use a bit more padding, but nothing a gel insert can’t fix.🎨 Aesthetic & Customization- Looks: It turns heads — not because it’s flashy, but because it’s clean. The blacked-out engine, exposed frame, and minimalist lighting give it a neo-retro charm.- Mods: I added bar-end mirrors, a shorty exhaust, and a custom Ram Darbaar tank decal (yes, blending devotion with rebellion — why not?). It’s now a reflection of my personality.💸 Maintenance & Practicality- Fuel Efficiency: Around 22–25 km/l in mixed riding. Not bad for a mid-weight cruiser.- Service: Honda’s network is solid. Parts are reasonably priced, and the bike’s reliability means fewer visits to the garage.- Storage: I added a small saddlebag for essentials. It’s not a tourer, but it handles weekend getaways like a champ.❤️ Emotional ConnectionThere’s something poetic about riding the Rebel at dawn — the city still asleep, the road yours alone. It’s not just a machine; it’s a mood. It doesn’t demand attention, it earns it. And every time I park it, I turn back for one last look.
