Owner of this bike from last 1 month. Here are a few pros and cons.
Pros : 1.) exceptionally good handling - you will just love to ride it in city or on highways. 2.) superb comfort - for riders it's seat is very comfy but for pillion I will give 8.5 out of 10 3.) great for cornering - if you live in a place where there is a lot of cornering , this bike will amaze you with the confidence it gives while cornering. 4.) decent mileage - was 40-42kmpl of mileage before first servicing but they said it will increase to 45+. 5.) grabs attention - it's something new on Indian roads + it's golden USD forks looks amazingly sexy. 6.) power - it can beat any bike(under 200cc) in 0-70km/h speed, even that roaring apache !! . Very strong mid range . Cruising speed is 90-100 without any vibration.
Cons : 1.) no abs on rear disc - this was disappointing. The rear wheel does skids on heavy braking. Should have been there. 2.) creepy sound from rear disc - rear disc sounds like rat while braking, however it got fixed after first servicing.3.) stiff suspension - it has adjustable rear suspension which is pre fixed on stiffer side. But on positive it gives confidence while cornering. 4.) headlights - could have been better, specially in low beam. Many owners have posted issue with this bike like oil leakage or others. I didn't faced any of such issue except of sound from rear disc which got fixed after first servicing. And yes it will lose race against mt-15 or apache but only in top range which is after 90km/h, probably and you don't need that in city even if you like to race. P.S -- this bike is mature and seeks probably a mature rider who loves riding rather than speeding or doing drag race.

    Sachin

This is the best bike that money can buy under 1.7 lakhs. On paper, it doesn't feel any competitive but once you ride this bike, it gives you the most satisfying riding experience. I did a test ride on multiple bikes but this bike gave me the best riding experience.
    PROS:
    1. Excellent handling quality
    2. Excellent ride experience
    3. Decent performance according to 184cc engine
    4. Good for short riders. I am 5'3" and I can easily ride this bike with ease
    5. Excellent braking on both sides.
    6. Good throttle response
    7. Good enough comfort for daily commuting. I travel 32 km daily for my college and I feel no pain riding on this bike. In fact, I enjoy riding this bike more.
    8. Excellent build quality.
    9. Excellent quality in every aspect
    10. Golden Upside-down fork manufactured by shows on the front suspension. Only a few bikes under 2 lakhs offer this quality suspension.
    11. One of the widest tires (on both front and rear sides) in the segment (under 2 lakhs) which provides excellent handling quality.
    12. Huge petal disk brake on both front and rear side which is calibrated by Nissin which provides excellent braking.
    13. Good instrument cluster with basic features.
    14. All LED setups. If that matters to you.
    15. And of course, amazing mileage compared to the performance it gives. On average, I get 50-55 kmpl.
    CONS:
    1. No dual-channel ABS. Only single-channel ABS.
    2. Stiff suspension setup. Although it improves handling quality.
    3. Not catchy exhaust note if that matters to you.
    4. Good engine refinement but not as good as Honda standards.
    5. Only Air-cooled engines.
    6. Poor headlight throw area. The brightness of the light is good though.
    7. Not catchy rearview mirror design.
Overall you can buy this motorcycle without thinking too much about it. But it's better to have a test ride on this bike if this bike suits you or not.

    Tips for other riders

Do wash and lube the chain between 500 km-1000 km at your own or any local garages. I did visit my nearby authorized service center and I feel cheated. They wash the chain with high-pressured water which will damage the O-rings in the chain and lubed it with used engine oil which will make a real mess with lots of dust and debris and provides very poor lubrication. Can't say about other Honda-authorised service centers. Also do adjust the headlight alignment as soon as you buy this motorcycle. And also adjust the pressure in both tires. The showroom fills the tire with air more than it requires which results in more stiffer riding experience. The optimal pressure for the front it 25psi and for the back 29psi.

  • The MOST underrated beast!!!

    Gaurav Bawadkar

After a very long period of searching for the perfect bike, I finally settled on Hornet 2.0
You'll find many reviews on Youtube so no need for a detailed explanation.
Just remember the following key points:-
    1) I am using XP95 petrol and getting 48 Kmpl in the city (Hinjewadi-Wakad) (currently riding below 60 kmph)(This is before 1st servicing!)(accurate mileage test 3 times till now)
    2) This is the 2024 model and is a lot better and improved than the 2021-22 models (Almost all the issues are resolved)
    3) For comfort- Yes it is a little stiff but here's the catch- maintain 25psi in front and 29psi in rear(with pillion) (25psi without pillion)and you'll discover a whole new additional dimension of comfort💯(based on experience)
    4) For mileage improvement- Don't use the clutch unnecessarily, gentle throttle opening, and maintain the recommended tire pressure.
    5) The rider as well as the pillion seat is on a firm and comfortable side
    6) Engine heating is normal and will be updated after the highway-long trip.
    7) The only issue encountered till now is the gear downshifting. (gears getting stuck while downshifting and requires adjusting the clutch). Will get it resolved in first servicing. (gear upshifting is buttery smooth!)
At the end, completely satisfied with the Hornet 2.0 and will recommend it to anyone who is looking for the most refined engine with excellent torque, daily city and highway commute, a large pillion seat, great power, and excellent mileage combo!!

The price is high and not given dual ABS. The riding experience is ok, look like a wow just looking like a wow, performance is best. Service is necessary at every 2000km so that bike maintenance is low and performance is better. It's all pros and cons. Its headlights are the best, tires are ok but ok, the name is superb.

    1. Bought Grey matte Hornet 2.0 in August 2022 with a price of 1.74 l. Delivered within 1 week. That's quite a good one.
    2. Mileage is awesome at this price segment and for the power. I'm getting 47 to 50 kmpl. It depends on how you are riding. I'm using it for daily purposes which is a minimum 12km ride of every day. Long ride as a solo rider, this is the best one, but with a pillion quite difficult.
    3. Looks are awesome and stylish. Easy to handle and will make you feel so comfortable and confident to ride in cities as a solo rider. Performance, initial pick up as usual good for 0 - 40 after that with the rpm of 5k, between 40 to 90, he is a beast. Easy ride in cities. No vibration at all till 110 kmph.
    4. Service is good because of honda but we need to pinpoint the service centres regarding all the problems. The battery will be fused off once the battery warranty is finished within the next month. Due to direct fuel injection, rpm will vary at the initial start of the day for 2km as it needs to get temperature.

Honda Hornet 2.0 is the most underrated bike in this segment. This bike is far better than other competitors because of its engine refinement and the top end is not satisfied, the engine is very happy to produce torque. The pillion comfort is not good but it is adjustable. That golden USD fork is doing good at cornerings. The headlight is not much visible and it is ok. 0 to 115 is pretty awesome. The availability of after-market accessories for this bike is limited. Low maintenance and service are good.

  • Superb riding experience

    Tips for other riders

Change oil for every 3k kilometres and maintenance of chain and basic stuffs are a necessity. Try to give basic service for every 1.5k to 2k km ride as it helps bike to remain in good condition for the long term.

    4. Look is terrific much muscular.
    5. Honda is famous for good service
    Pros ;
It is a Honda brand - good engine.
    Cons:
Price can be brought a little lesser.

Fantastic bike. lovely torque.Decent mileage for a 186 cc bike. A good bike to ride in the city, I driving it to the office every day (around 26 km)
2 Big issues with the bike.
Shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and vice-versa.
    and lack of a kick-start.
a bit pricey. better VFM bikes are available.

I bought a Hornet bike in 2017 (6+ years), and since then I have enjoyed every ride with awesome comfort. It has excellent pickup and very good mileage. To date, I have not faced any Engine Problems. The color of my Bike is red, 163cc. It has very stunning looks.
