Warm welcome my fellow biking brothers,

Now i’m going to review about one of the hondas finest decision otherwise called as hornet 160r cbs. Here i'll explain in sections for your easy understanding.

I was studding my final year of engineering degree. Just thought it’s the right time to get a motorcycle in order to make my dream fulfill.

First of all ill start with my buying experience: 8/10

First i was thinking apache 200,fz 2.0,gixxer and hornet due to those aggressive styling and my trust on honda i choose it. I was planning to get my bike on november 19,2016 due to demonetization problems it got postponed to november 21,2016. After a long struggle i got my hand laid on my bike it was actually a great feel. Now it’s been 24000kms in 12 months.

Performance: 7.5/10

If you are someone who always need your bike to perform this bike is not for you, because as for as performance concerned hornet is below average because the engine is derived from its sibling unicorn without any major changes. Those 15.6bhp engine gives you enough power to ride but you should not expect low end power but as far as mid-range is concerned that’s above average.

Long trip:8/10

I have done 460kms in 7 hours. With 300kms non-stop(in rain)you can comfortably cruise at a speed of 80kmph. For more than 90 mins.

Mileage:7.5/10

As far as mileage before my second service i got 50kmpl now i’m getting 40kmpl that’s because of change in my riding style. In this bike if u do rash driving you can easily notice the mileage drop.

Brakes:9.0/10

The best part of hornet those three pot nissin calipers will do the magic, these brakes have never let me down. Feedback from the brake will be great. You should really feel that to know about this brakes. Cbs works like a charm.

Service:8.5/10

So far so good with their wide range of service network honda can satisfy you anywhere any time.

Tyres. 8.5/10

Those beefy look of that tyre will tell the story. Great grip on dry road. But somewhat slippery at dry road.

Technology:5/10

This ios where honda fails it don’t even have engine kill switch and those controls on handle bar are years old..

Price :7.5/10

This is somewhat more when compared to their competitors. Should have been around 92k on road.

Refinement:9/10

Guys why are you seeing this title this is honda so skip………

Improvement points:

Head light was not up to the mark and battery is also very less capacity.

Performance at hills are very disappointing.

Speedometer console could have been better.

As usual chain noise problem is there.

No proper dust cover on rear to avoid shocks getting muddy during rainy season.

Total score:

Buying experience: 8/10

Performance: 7.5/10

Long trip:8/10

Mileage:7.5/10

Brakes:9.0/10

Service:8.5/10

Tyres. 8.5/10

Technology:5/10

Price :7.5/10

Refinement:9/10

Total-78.5/100

Finally the decision is your..

Thank you for spending your valuable time in reading my review. Cheers…ride hard always wear safety gears..Miles to go…

Tips for Honda CB Hornet 160R

Change oil 2500kms once for best result. And by my personal experience motul 3100t suits it best

I bought this bike 5 years ago when I started earning. at that time it was a turner, I did daily commutes to the office and long trips on weekends. The riding posture of the bike is definitely great for the rider but the pillion may face some pain. I can take this bike anywhere without thinking twice. Now there are many memories I have with this machine. Me and my friend named it "BLACK PEARL". Apart from its front suspension and service center issue the bike is a must-have. I also met 2-3 minor accidents while riding but this is the machine you can trust while going for a ride again.

I have been riding a CB Hornet 160R since Mar'17 and haven't faced any issues yet. Had a trip from Noida to Jaipur once and it was not at all tiring. The bike was smooth and achieved its maximum speed of 115 on an empty stretch of highway around 5 AM. Even the high-speed bike was controllable and even today it touches 110 easily without much effort.
I loved its looks a lot as it has a very sporty look and Honda's trustworthy engine. After riding it for 25000, I changed its spark plug once as the mileage got dropped from 55 kmpl to 34 kmpl. But as soon as I replaced the spark plug with Honda Genuine spark plug, the mileage got increased to 57 kmpl as well. I use Motul's fully synthetic engine oil as it increases the mileage as compared to the Engine oil given by Honda service centers. I get this mileage also because I ride it at a speed of 50-55 km/hr only. And I don't perform harsh braking or harsh acceleration.
    Pros:
    1. Sporty Look
    2. Powerful 160 CC trustworthy engine.
    3. Handling is easy and not shaky at all.
    Cons:
    1. Vibrations may increase after some time and you can get rid of it if you get it serviced properly.
Tip: To get the best mileage out of it, ride it between 50-60 kmph and get it serviced on a regular basis along with Motul Engine oil and a cleaned spark plug.

The bike is good for touring purposes and for daily use. For Guys who like to travel at normal speeds around 90kmph, and filter traffic on a daily basis this bike is for them. And it's smooth, I have completed around 70,000 km till now, and it still gives mileage of 50kmpl. A few years ago companies didn't sell RSA because they knew that such bikes won't betray in between rides.

At this cost, it's too smooth to ride
Looks like a sports bike but it's actually more satisfying than a sports bike. The size of this bike looks like a mountain bike and the seat is big as well more than 2 people ride at the same time.
    I love this one!
I rate this 5 stars not for only my satisfaction I suggest you all buy a bike and get ownership
And Bikewale is a great way to a great bike with a great offer!

Good better best Powerful style, comfortable, looks racing sports quality look. I am surprised no cost of maintenance. One defect is that it turns to the right side which is a small problem. Back side no mudguard which was a big problem. The split seat in this bike provides it with a beautiful look. I am so happy with this bike ownership review

First on, it never gives 48 kmpl. The ride quality is terrific. Battery drain lots. Reserve fuel capacity is only 1 liter. Chain loosening issue. Power drain issue. Never ride with 2, other it will give you 38 on average. The riding experience for both suspensions is very stiff, I am facing back pain issues now. Worst of all, the honda service Center did to all the bikes I am facing at the early stage. No proper servicing they have done.

  • My Best investment Hornet 160R

    Vineet Keshore

I am a proud owner of this champ from 2016, I was really excited to buy this bike. It was a stylish and yet practical bike. When I bought this bike in 2016 its design was pretty new, people stopped me many times and asked me about the bike. I have travelled 78000 km on this bike till now and m very happy with its performance and mileage. I am getting 50 to 55 kmpl mileage, I have taken this bike to the high mountains of Arunachal Pradesh 3 times from muddy roads to black ice I have ridden this bike everywhere.

  • Not for professionals who don't want any trouble in daily work.
