I never owned this bike and will not ever I will purchase it because I am very disappointed with honda. they are selling the cbr fireblade- looking 250r in foreign countries. and what they gave, the same old with leds and new colour scheme. What Honda! you became a scooter brand. I was a big fan of honda when i was in my childhood. but they stopped making new updates on their motorcycle. they would say like "Indians don't deserve such good motorcycle, lets give them same old bike and milking them forever."

Owning an abs variant of cbr250r since 2014, clocked over 45,000 kms and the engine is still going strong. Crashed hard a few times but the build quality is rock solid with minimal vibrations at the top end even after 7 years.
The looks of the bike is inspired directly by its elder sibling the 1200f and though the cbr now looks a bit dated against its new rivals, it is never even an inch lower in making a style statement of its own even today.
Ride quality is brilliant with suspension being on bit of the softer side. You can easily cruise on highways with the speeds between 120-140 km/h for a long time without the engine breaking a sweat.
Delivery experience was delightful but the only issue still prevalent is the spare parts availability.
Maintenance is minimal to moderate as long as you keep this bike running and in use, once you stall it for like over an year or so, it can easily burn a hole in your pocket.
Though I personally never cared about mileage much, you can expect around 23 km/l in city and 28 km/l on the highways if you are a throttle freak and love to push the bike to its limits.
Would've really appreciated if Honda continued this beautiful machine under the bsvi norms but cannot blame them either because of the poor sales.
Still can't figure out why this bike failed to make a cut in the indian market as I have never come across anyone who doesn't have some liking for this bike or a owner who has had issues with it.
Anyway it was an amazing experience owning this bike and I will definitely look upto Honda again for bigger displacement bikes in future. They've made sure that i stay a happy customer during my ownership of their wonderful machine.

I have owned cbr250r for 7 years now and riden it over 45k kms. Taken it on long rides and used it in daily mumbai traffic commute to office and back. I can say, there are very little segment of motorcycle can do all this as good as good old cbr250.
Back in the day India had only cbr250, ktm 390 and Kawasaki 300 to choose from. Kawasaki was way too expensive, 390 was unrefined & non reliable engine and had heating issues. The only motorcycle made sense was cbr, enough power to take you past 160kmph with reliability of Honda, low maintenance cost, easy on pocket (2.10 on road in 2014) and amazing ergonomics for those long highway tours.
When I am not riding it, i keep thinking of upgrading it to some higher capacity motorcycle for amazing touring experience and once i am on cbr riding it, it gets me back to reality that I already have a wonderful machine.
Although it looks dated now, with no upgrade other than just the headlight, i think i am owning a legend and part of limited owners group :)
The pros list is long. Only con is there is hardly any 3rd party accessories maker who makes accessories for cbr. I am looking for custom made back rest for my wife for so long, and i am not able to get anyone who makes it.
If you own this motorcycle, don't sell it off. It's another hall of fame motorcycle.

Overall I was longing for it to own. Now it's been a long journey to go.

Some people do say that the looks are outdated, put it next to a Ktm, r15 or Bajaj rs200, you'll see that it still looks the beast among them.

Owning a premium bike I thought could cost more for servicing and maintenance but to my surprise, it's not that expensive, performance compared to the previous version is comparatively very less but still love this bike because of the engine sound and makes me feel good...

Except back pain which aches at time because of the handle bar design but being my favorite beast I don't mind.

One of the most amazing bikes in India. 1. Super smooth. 2. Reliable, not like RE bikes. 3. Service is dirt cheap, all other reviewers have posted wrong information. General service cost is around 2k. 4. You don't need to buy any added accessories as each and every part is built for purpose. Not like other motorcycles where you need to buy comfort/touring seats, raise handlebars, install windshield. That is just plain stupid. Why would I buy an incomplete bike when I pay full price.
4. Quality of each and every part is superb unlike other bikes in this category.
5. Heat management is excellent.
Average: 33kmpl
Few cons:
1. 1st and second gears are very short and feel a little strain when you rev in them.
2. The instrument cluster is outdated. Anyway the bike has been stopped in India.

Anybody from my age group would agree that growing up, honda cbr250r was a dream bike.. As was the case for me.. It was a passion buy and i didn't care about the mileage and fuel efficiency.. I have to give my honest opinion having owned this bike for over 4 years now and i have thoroughly been "satisfied" with this purchase..Pros- aesthetic looks- top speed- still turns heads even after 4 years of owning it ;p- excellent servicing as is the case with honda everywhere:)- comfortable seating- very good maneuverability. Cons- fuel efficiency (around 22-25 kmpl after 4 years)- cost of servicing- spare parts are expensive- if made as a passion buy, then any damage really stings :(I have given my honest opinion and i truly believe passion buys are worth every penny spent.. Have no regrets and when you buy this bike, trust me.. You're set for life...And like they say, "no matter how bad your day has been, your bike will always make you feel better:)"And when it's a cbr, no matter how bad your life is, rest assured your bike will make you happy:)
