The Honda CB650R is a neo sports cafe-style motorcycle in the middleweight segment. It is the naked streetfighter version of the CBR650R.

The display supports Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with the Honda RoadSync app. The motorcycle uses Showa SFF USD forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock to perform suspension duties. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels while braking duties are carried out by dual disc brakes at the front and a single rotor at the rear.

Powering the 2025 Honda CB650R is a 649cc, inline-four-cylinder motor that produces 94bhp at 12,000rpm and a peak torque of 63Nm at 9,500rpm. This engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox that benefits from an assist and slipper clutch. The CB650R costs Rs. 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Honda CB650R Review: The Neo-Retro Streetfighter

        Himanshu

        introduction
The Honda CB650R is a middleweight naked sportbike that combines modern technology with a retro-inspired design. Positioned as a stylish and versatile streetfighter, the CB650R offers a refined riding experience with an inline-four engine, premium build quality, and Honda’s reputation for reliability.
        Engine & Performance
The CB650R is powered by a 649cc inline-four, liquid-cooled engine that produces around 85 hp and 57.5 Nm of torque.
The engine delivers smooth power delivery, making it ideal for both city commuting and spirited highway rides.
It has a 6-speed gearbox with an assist-and-slipper clutch, ensuring smooth gear shifts and reducing rear-wheel chatter during aggressive downshifts.
While not as aggressive as a supersport bike, the inline-four provides a thrilling high-revving experience.
        Mileage & Fuel Efficiency
Real-world mileage varies between 17-21 km/l (40-50 mpg) depending on riding style and conditions.
Fuel tank capacity is 15.4 liters, offering a decent range for long rides.
It may not be the most fuel-efficient in the segment, but it compensates with a refined riding experience.
        Ride & Handling
The steel diamond frame provides a balanced mix of stability and agility.
Showa Separate Function Forks (SFF-BP) with upside-down suspension ensures a plush ride with good front-end feedback.
The bike is agile in city traffic yet stable on highways, making it a great all-rounder.
At 208 kg, it is slightly on the heavier side, but well-distributed weight makes it easy to maneuver.
        Brakes & Safety Features
Equipped with dual 310mm front disc brakes and a single 240mm rear disc, offering excellent braking performance.
Dual-channel ABS is standard, ensuring confidence-inspiring braking.
Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) acts as a basic traction control system, preventing rear-wheel slip.
        Design & Build Quality
The Neo Sports Café styling is a standout feature, blending retro elements with a modern naked-bike look.
The full-LED headlamp has a distinct, aggressive look.
High-quality switchgear, premium finishes, and attention to detail make the CB650R feel like a premium machine.
        Comfort & Ergonomics
The upright seating position with slightly rear-set footpegs offers a sporty yet comfortable stance.
Seat height of 810mm is accessible for most riders, though shorter riders might find it a bit tall.
The pillion seat is small and not very comfortable for long rides.
        Pros & Cons
        ✅ Pros:
✔ Smooth and refined inline-four engine
✔ Premium build quality and styling
✔ Comfortable and versatile for daily use
✔ Good balance between performance and fuel efficiency
        ❌ Cons:
