I bought Honda Shine Sp from Selvam Honda, Vellore in 2016 near Diwali time.
I don't know some people have commented their experience on this bike similar to that of a car. What I felt is like riding on bullock cart. Suspension is worst. Wherever and whenever I see a medium hollow in the road or street I need to apply brake for juggle free experience. All these happens only when you ride alone. If pillion rider is with you the suspension is working as it should be and all fine.
Cold start problem is there - how much ever you apply the kicker or choke and go to second gear , the bike gets started and when suddenly you see a turning and you are applying clutch means the bike engine turns off. This happens irrespective of good quality petrol, Good Heat, Good oil.
The seat of rider is not comfortable at all. Felt like as if seated on a horse in merry go round.
But the seat of Pillion rider is pretty good.
The Headlamp of this light is good and ok. I like the passing light technology.
When you shift the gears correctly according to the respective speed matching rhythm then the gear changes smoothly. I felt a great difference while riding alone and with a pillion.
Remember whenever you are on halt please use 1st gear for a movement and change the gear to 2nd as fast as you can .
2nd - fine upto 18km/he
3rd - fine upto 25 km /HR
4th - fine upto 35 km /HR
5th - the rest of speed.
Please maintain from 40 to 60 for lesser vibration, good control and Economic ride.
Greater than 60 is the worst ever shivering especially felt under the pant.
Don't simply judge the small holes or small speed breakers and ride around 30 in this bike because it will make you get hurt on those soft parts where it should not be hurt . I hope you understood. This hurt is also been experienced by pillion rider.
Make sure you apply only half clutch for turning or keeping the bike engine on during traffic while on gears.. Half clutch in the sense it shouldn't be engaging the clutch to gear box but at the same time the bike engine should be on. If you apply full clutch while turning or reversing back with your legs or trying to keep the engine on halt them surely the bike engine will turn off irrespective of engine heat . I haven't seen any other bike of this condition.
Make sure you ride the bike on Main and not on reserve. I tried on reserve and full fuel got empty which led me for for a bike walk to petroleum for almost 4 kms.
The handle bar of this bike is different and need to struggle for taking a free turn unlike other bike or the CB Shine. Infact I struggled to turn during my RTO license test for driving 8.
Please make sure to service this bike every 1500 km or maximum by 2000.

Tips for Honda CB Shine SP

Always start bike engine in neutral and got to 1st gear and then 2nd. Other wise you will face the bike engine troubleshooting within 2 years. I have ridden 59000 km. So please make use of expertise advice. When going for large rides please maintain at 60 for good mileage and smooth rides. Please don't load weight exceeding 170kg otherwise the bike's gearbox will not work and more complex problems are created at heavy repair costs. Infact if you exceed even you apply full force on 1st gear the bike will not even move a inch on sloppy areas. Please apply correct mechanism while gear changing for enjoying smooth rides with girlfriend otherwise the bike will stall. Always apply choke for cold start. leave it for 5 seconds then release the choke and move to 1st gear and ride. Every morning please put the gear to neutral and turn off the bike key. Apply the kick start 6 time. then Self start. It make the engine oil apply all around and prevent the engine from turning off.

It was gifted by Laws in May'2017 so I can't express my buying experience. But about riding it is a wonderful bike to ride. 100 kilometers is normal. Whatever convenience it has, whether it is to take a turn or go fast, it keeps a grip on the road. Its long seat is very comfortable. This is a completely non-maintenance vehicle, only servicing has to be done on time. The rear tire needs to be a little thicker.

I own Shine Dream Yuga. Shine is the top-selling bike after Activa.

There are many issues need to focus by Honda

Carburettor has got to be replaced after 45000KM. The engine stops working frequently.
The chain kit needs to be replaced after 27000KM. Initially, the Mileage was 62 km, now it is 53 km.
I will do servicing regularly for 2000 km. Even though the above are the issues I am facing. Before taking shine once compare other brands.

Now in all series of honda this sp shine is amazing, looks nice, excellent design, sitting very comfortable, marvelous mileage, riding smooth, unfortunately why the honda discontinued this bike. We don't know. May be continuing this series is advantage to honda and fulfill the needs of honda lovers..

I own shine sp 2012 model. Powerful bike. Using since 9 years 70,000 km completed.
Nice and comfortable.
Used for long rides 150 km have a comfortable ride.
I am getting mileage 50 - 60 km/l.
Engine is not very noisy it has good pick up
Only issue is starting trouble especially winter season !!!
Maintenance little bit high.
Better change engine oil every 1500 km.

Overall bike performance is good. Bike pickup was good as per the given specs. The bike was stable in high-speed The cbs breaking system was good. The bike has a mileage of around 50 km's. Engine reliability is good. Excellent for highway tours and city usage.
Cons- Front suspension has create some sound while drive-in potholes. Engines generate heat but it's not a problem, all bikes are generating nowadays.

My bike story.

I brought it in my inter second year and this is having good mileage and nice condition and very good experience this is my favorite bike and till now I did not receive any problem , good product and it is helpful in all purposes. till now 1 year over no changes in bike. very beautiful and never troubled me and I went so many places by using this bike

I care my bike very well because it's my everyday use so I will care for my bike by service.I changed my engine oil at 2500km. At 9000 km... I don't need to change the tyres..But its light is very poor when I leave the acceleration at any potholes or any bumper. Then it's difficult to see. And.An irritating sound creat by the fibre parts and the visor at high speed or on bad roads.And also. Feel a struggle from the engine at 70-80 kmph .And also one thing its the engine is very refined and very good sound. And also a bad sound creat at the time of gear change by multiple down and up swift.Okay.After all, maintenance is reasonable.

Poor quality of parts provided by honda like lock, center stand, side stand & front soccer. Service centers are very horrible. All 4 free services are done from authorized service center. Experience is very poor. Before 1st service, bike was giving mileage of 64 kmpl. Now it is giving mileage of 54 kmpl. They disturbed the carburetor setting without my permission. Very poor experience.

I care my bike very well because it's my everyday use so i will care my bike by seevice....i cahnged my engine oil at 2500km......at 9000 km... I don't need to change the Tyres........but its light is very poor when i leave the acceleration at any potholes or any bumper.....then its difficult to see......and...a irritating sound creat by the fiber parts and the visor at high speed or in bad roads.....and also....feel a struggle from engine at 70-80 kmph ...and also one thing it's engine is very refined and very good sound.....and also a bad sound creat at the time of gear change by multiple down and up Swift...oka....after all maintenance is reasonable.....

Poor quality of parts provided by honda like lock, center stand, side stand & front soccer. Service centers are very horrible. All 4 free services are done from authorized service center. Experience is very poor. Before 1st service, bike was giving mileage of 64 kmpl. Now it is giving mileage of 54 kmpl. They disturbed the carburetor setting without my permission. Very poor experience.

It was gifted by Laws in May'2017 so I can't express my buying experience. But about riding it is a wonderful bike to ride. 100 kilometers is normal. Whatever convenience it has, whether it is to take a turn or go fast, it keeps a grip on the road. Its long seat is very comfortable. This is a completely non-maintenance vehicle, only servicing has to be done on time. The rear tire needs to be a little thicker.

There are many issues need to focus by Honda

Carburettor has got to be replaced after 45000KM. The engine stops working frequently.
The chain kit needs to be replaced after 27000KM. Initially, the Mileage was 62 km, now it is 53 km.
I will do servicing regularly for 2000 km. Even though the above are the issues I am facing. Before taking shine once compare other brands.

Sp shine looks like a lion

Now in all series of honda this sp shine is amazing, looks nice, excellent design, sitting very comfortable, marvelous mileage, riding smooth, unfortunately why the honda discontinued this bike. We don't know. May be continuing this series is advantage to honda and fulfill the needs of honda lovers..

Honda CB Shine SP review

I own shine sp 2012 model. Powerful bike. Using since 9 years 70,000 km completed.
Nice and comfortable.
Used for long rides 150 km have a comfortable ride.
I am getting mileage 50 - 60 km/l.
Engine is not very noisy it has good pick up
Only issue is starting trouble especially winter season !!!
Maintenance little bit high.
Better change engine oil every 1500 km.

Overall bike performance is good. Bike pickup was good as per the given specs. The bike was stable in high-speed The cbs breaking system was good. The bike has a mileage of around 50 km's. Engine reliability is good. Excellent for highway tours and city usage.
Cons- Front suspension has create some sound while drive-in potholes. Engines generate heat but it's not a problem, all bikes are generating nowadays.

My bike story.

I brought it in my inter second year and this is having good mileage and nice condition and very good experience this is my favorite bike and till now I did not receive any problem , good product and it is helpful in all purposes. till now 1 year over no changes in bike. very beautiful and never troubled me and I went so many places by using this bike
