Don't buy this vehicle

I brought a new honda activa 125 on 10th Aug 2015 by paying 70, 000 and i started getting problems from the next week. While riding this vehicle vibrations and jerking problems are higher.
My bike started to jumps like an horse at a speed of 30-50 and due to which i get a severe shoulder pain. To add on i even have jerking problems. I don't get control over my bike in highways due to heavy air. I don't get a safe and smooth ride due to these problem and i am totally fed up. I have raised complaints regarding this to honda, and honda team convinced me for the last time assuring that they will personally check my vehicle. During my last visit dealer informed me that honda's technical team has tested my vehicle and all is fine now. But again in 2 days all the problems were back.
So at this point i have few questions.
honda activa 125 is an failure model

Good scooter better than others

Style activa 125 is one of the most stylish scooter in its segment except vespa. Headlight and taillght are very good looking. Fit and finish of handlebar buttons and digital console are very good loking.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox activa125 as name says it has more powerful 125cc engine which packs a load of power. It will give you extreme pickup. I have achieved topspeed of 91kmph with it. With this type of pickup you can easily flee around traffic and highways, too.
0-40 Ia very fast and easy
50-60 engine lacks of torque and because of that it creates a lot of vibration and thumping.
60-80 It feels like floating on the road , it remains very calm and steady at high speed, its very good to be at 70kmph.
85 It makes very loud noise of topspeed.
Overtaking at 70kmph is very easy too just give it some throttle and it will give you power as much you want.
It is very good to ride at higher speeds but it can be easily overheated too. Because of overheating side panels are heated to and it effects legs of passenger.
If you drive it 80kmph constantly for 1 hour it will overheat and cutoff the power but i have never overheated it.
Ride quality & handling ride quality is extreme and you can drive it constantly for 2-3 hours with ease but after 3 hours you will start felling pain in your shoulder and back. Handling is good , grip of the tyres are good. You can easily flick it into the corner with ease.
After 2 months front panel of the scooter starts vibrating and at lower speed it is very bad, but when you go 40kmph or up vibration will be gone.
I liked the braking of activa125, because of cbs [ combi braking system ] it effectively stops bike in no time and without any tyre locking or screeching.
I suggest you to just loosen the front tyre brake bolt of [cbs] and fasten the rear tyre bolt hard to get effective braking.
Final words activa 125 is greatest activa and it has same power as other activa 110 but because of plenty of torque it wins the race.
Areas of improvement issue of overheating could be resolved, issue of vibation could be resolved.
Pros
digital console, power, braking and stability at high speed
cons
vibrations and other noises

Good looks, poor mileage. Too pricey

Style very good looks. The digital meter is a delight.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox smooth, but has cold start in morning. Mileage in city rarely exceeds 40. Past 600 km have been around 36-37kmpl.
Ride quality & handling good enough. But the usual activa trait continues - you cannot take a sharp turn on high speeds, a sudden brake will take a toll on balance
final words activa 3g is a better value of money in all aspects.
Areas of improvement mileage and vehicle price.
Pros
looks, pickup

Activa 125 review after using for 7k km.
Ambaris R
Style
i like the style of the bike. Analogue/digital meter cluster is very sporty with silver lining around it.
Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox
engine is very torquey and pickup is very nice. 0 To 50 kmph can easily be achieved in under 5 sec. Even on higher speeds, the engine does not feel stressed. I have even ridden this scooter at my highest speed of 95 kmph still balance was very good and engine was happy to continue with such high speeds. But there is vibration from front portion of the scooter during initial acceleration which disallows the acceleration to kick in which is sometimes very irritating specially in stop & go traffic. (May be this is a problem with my scooter only. Even service centres have not been able to solve this issue.) Fuel economy is just satisfactory as i get around 33 kmpl in city traffic and around 38.5 Kmpl on highways (speed of around 55-60 kmph). Also there is cold-start issues specially on chilly mornings (as with most other vehicles). Mileage and vibration kept aside, this can simply be the best scooter in the 125cc segment.
Ride quality & handling
ride quality of the scooter is awesome. Handling is also very good but sometimes in case of emergency braking with both brakes applied, the rear end of the bike tends to skid (this is a cbs equipped scooter, so unequal braking cannot be issue) causing unbalance.
Final words
very good scooter if mileage is no issue.
Areas of improvement
mileage can be improved vastly. Showrooms claim 50-55 kmpl and bikewale claims 54 kmpl but actual mileage is nowhere near it. Front end vibration issue to be addressed. Updated version of scooter to be launched (this scooter was last updated around 5 years back)
pros
style, pickup.
Cons
mileage, vibration during initial acceleration.

Buying experience was excellent, looks are good, performance is not bad when compared to other 125cc scooters, servicing and maintenance is expensive almost equivalent to a royal enfield 500cc costs, after your 4 free services are over, one good thing is the pickup, the main problem of the scooter is weak body, too much of vibrations, after few months you've to tightened the nuts and bolts of this scooter or else you loose the confidence to ride it because of the noises coming from the every part of the body of loose nuts and bolts. I would not recommend this scooter to anyone. It's not a safe scooter. It's not about just me, i've known loads of people facing the same problems.

I bought this bike 10 days back. I went for the blue color without the disc because somehow i feel a scooter with such small tyres and flat sitting should have disc brakes just because it is 125 cc. The whole purpose of a scooter is not long rides and very fast riding at 100 or more like how most bikes are rode daily. Scooters are the most comfortable at the 45-50 speed range. They are not to be used for long rides and your sport style riding. They are to be used subtle and with automatic gears it is pretty decent to ride one.
I started riding a bike when i was 18. I have always rode a bike with gears. Now being 35 and usage of a 2 wheeler to be different, i opted for a automatic scooter. But my love for the geared bike will always remain. Right now priorities are different.
Coming back to the bike, as i said earlier, the automatic gear is great and also the leg space to keep stuff at the front like your small groceries that your wife might just call up on a late afternoon. The hassle of hanging in on the handle is not there. The pick up is generally good but not as good as your geared bike but you cannot challenge that because a bike is always bike and you cannot challenge your scooter to do the same, that would be just unfair. But in its league, the pick up is rather smooth and you do have that confidence level also.
The mileage well currently just before the 1st service, it is rather good at 45-46 levels (i did the full tank theory). Stabilty at tight corners are a bit hazy and i have this feeling that negotiating those tight corners and u turns, you might just slip. But hey! we are not riding a race bike, are we?
the finishing the metallics and plastics are really good. They could have come up with a small space to keep your cell phone and a charging point which is really useful. That is a set back for 70k onroad std version scooter. The storage space under the seat is not suitable for a full face helmet and again thats a put off.
But overall i am pretty happy with time and hopefully fuel that i get to save. Because from a 2 hour drive to my office is now cut to 45 minutes and rs 6000 on petrol on my swift to just 1200 on my scooter is another big thing for me. Did i forget to mention that this is in bangalore city! i am sure we have worse traffic conditions else where in the country.
I have just crossed the 100 km mark and maybe few things like mileage etc might be a little far fetched or too soon to be talking. Will surely write again here after my first service which is due in a week.
Small piece of advice. Use the scooter for it is really intended for and regular service from the authorized centers, it really works!
so i give 5 stars to the bike now and hope it stays. Happy riding everyone.

Lot of problems in activa 125

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine getting cutoff while slowing down. Has to be kickstarted in the morning. Clicking sound from the engine in idle. Lot of vibration with rear passenger. Poor mileage 32kmpl. Vehicle jumps like a horse at times at speed of 20 to 30 kmpl.
Final words after paying 70k i feel so depressed. I dont know if i will be even able to sell this vehicle. I serviced this vehicle in didar motors in chennai and i took it back to them 4 times in 20 days. Still no relief.

I brought a new honda activa 125 on 23rd jan 2015 by paying 70, 000 and i started getting problems from the next week. My bike started to turn off when i slow down the accelerator. Later i took it to the service center to fix the issue. At the same time i complained them about the vibration and jerking problem but the dealer informed me that 125 cc is too much for my weight(55kg) and so i face these problems.
My bike started to jumps like an horse at a speed of 30-50 and due to which i get a severe shoulder pain. To add on i even have jerking problems. I don't get control over my bike in highways due to heavy air. I have visited the dealer's place 6 times regarding all this problems. But at the end i face the same problem and pain.
I don't get a safe and smooth ride due to these problem and i am totally fed up. I have raised complaints regarding this to honda, and honda team convinced me for the last time assuring that they will personally check my vehicle.

Activa 125 review after using for 7k km.

Style
i like the style of the bike.

I feel all amazing experience. because nothing but honda activa. I have use this bike last 12 years. Back pain reliever bike. And very nice driving to all place. But bike weight is high compared to equivalent models. I think this bike is fast moving (sales) vehicles. Less maintenance and service spare parts is very cheap.

Lot of problems in activa 125

Karthik

During my last visit dealer informed me that honda's technical team has tested my vehicle and all is fine now. But again in 2 days all the problems were back.
So at this point i have few questions,
have honda advertised that their scooter is for 60-90kg people anywhere?
is honda activa 125 having all the problems? is it an failure model?
pros
good and smooth pickup
cons
jumps like an horse
