  • The pleasure of owning a pleasure

    Bhargav Bose

It's been 7 years since i first saw the pleasure in the showroom. Even though there were quite a lot of customers that day, all the paperwork took only twenty minutes. I was really happy with the buying experience. I am a 6' foot tall male weighing 95kgs now. Even though hero advertises the pleasure as a girly vehicle, i have had no problems riding it. I even took it to nh33 and rode more than 60kms that day. There were no problems. The old pleasure has aged well. Even though the new pleasure certainly looks better, the old pleasure is still something good to look at. The engine is punchy and responsive at the lower rev range. However, it does feel a little out of breadth at full throttle. (do not try that on public roads!!! i did that on an uphill)We chose hero honda over other manufacturers because their service centre was close to our house. Servicing is an easy process. Just drop your vehicle at the service centre along with a few papers in the morning and the vehicle is fully serviced by the evening. Maintenance is affordable.Pros:- 1. Pleasure has perfect proportions. Its neither too big nor too small. 2. Good grips on the handle bar. I feel no fatigue after travelling long distances.3. Engine is powerful enough while providing decent fuel economy. When it was new, i was able to squeeze out 42.3 kmpl (100% accurate, i tested that out myself), now its 35-40 kmpl, but i can live with that.4. Foot-pegs are easy to open and close for the passenger. Cons:-1. Male riders wants a bit more leg space.2. Instrument cluster is outdated.3. Body protectors are prone to rusting.

Light weight specially meant for girls. Made for light riders and though it is just 100cc but pickup is pretty good and recommended not for triple rides

It might be a good idea to think about it because it is light weight scooty and you can experience a easy cutting experience in it.

    Not looks attractive as jupiter.

    Requires timely service and maintenance.

Its been 8 years since i purchased this scooty. Did some paperwork, process was smooth. About riding experience I am 6 ft tall I don't feel any problem while riding. Power output is good for a 100cc engine. Riding at speeds of 40 to 60 kmph on highways is smooth and satisfying. Now about the problems i faced is 1)front suspension ,riding on bumpy roads is terrifying 2)rear brakes do not work properly 3)bearings wearout 4)vibrations at initial speeds 5)oil leakage from gearbox near rear brake area. Once i tested its mileage on highway with my friend who weighs 98kgs,on total our weight was 165 kgs. The mileage i got was around 57kmpl.Servicing cost is low. Now about looks all i can say it is meant for girls and looks good on girls.

Ownership for 9 years. The buying experience was amazing. Bought it in 2014, feels light and easy to maneuver. It looks great as compared to others in 2014. It looked so good when I brought it back in 2014. Good mileage, good looks, comfortable sitting, low price.
