The Xtreme 250R is Hero’s contender in the quarter-litre street bike segment. The motorcycle mainly competes against the Bajaj Pulsar N250 and the Suzuki Gixxer 250.
It is powered by Hero’s new 250cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 29.5bhp at 9,250rpm and 25Nm of torque at 7,250rpm. It’s tuned for strong mid-range performance and goes from zero to 60kmph in 3.2 seconds. The six-speed transmission system is accompanied by an assist and a slipper clutch.
Underpinned by a trellis frame, it rides on 17-inch wheels that are suspended by USD forks and a six-step preload adjustable monoshock. Braking duties are handled by a single petal-type disc at both ends, along with dual-channel ABS and the facility to switch it off for the rear wheel. With an 11.5-litre fuel tank, the bike weighs 167.7kg (kerb).
The profoundly aggressive and sporty design is complemented by a bunch of modern features. The lighting system is fully LED and the instrumentation setup comprises an LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity. This display shows lap times, drag times, turn-by-turn, and all the crucial data. The Xtreme 250R is available in three colours, Firestorm Red, Stealth Black, and Neon Shooting Star.

Living with the Hero Xtreme 250R A Daily Rider’s Honest Take
3 weeks ago
Samay Nikose
I’ve been riding the Hero Xtreme 250R for a few months now, and after putting it through city traffic, weekend highway runs, and some rough patches of road, I feel I can finally give a genuine, real-world review instead of first-impression hype.First Impressions & DesignThe first thing that drew me to the Xtreme 250R was its aggressive streetfighter look. In person, the bike looks muscular and sharp, especially the tank extensions and the LED headlamp setup. It doesn’t feel overdone, but it definitely turns heads at signals. The paint quality and panel fit are better than what Hero used to offer a few years ago, which honestly surprised me in a good way.Engine & PerformanceThe 250cc engine is smooth, refined, and very usable. It’s not a wild, high-revving monster, but that’s actually what makes it enjoyable. The power delivery is linear, which is perfect for daily riding. In city traffic, the bike feels relaxed and doesn’t demand constant gear changes. On highways, cruising at 90–110 km/h feels effortless, and there’s still enough power left for overtakes.Vibrations are minimal, even at higher speeds, which shows Hero has worked well on engine refinement. It may not be the fastest in the segment, but it feels dependable and stress-free.Ride & HandlingThis is where the Xtreme 250R really shines. The suspension is well-balanced—comfortable on bad roads yet stable at higher speeds. Potholes and speed breakers are handled confidently, which makes it a great option for Indian road conditions. Cornering feels predictable, and the bike stays planted even when pushed a little. The braking setup is reassuring, with good bite and feedback. ABS works smoothly without being intrusive, which adds confidence, especially during sudden braking situations.Comfort & ErgonomicsThe riding posture is slightly sporty but comfortable, making it suitable for both short commutes and longer rides. The seat cushioning is decent, and even after an hour or more of riding, I didn’t feel excessive fatigue. Pillion comfort is average—fine for city rides, but not ideal The Hero Xtreme 250R is a well-balanced 250cc motorcycle that focuses on real-world usability rather than outright aggression. It stands out with its sharp streetfighter design, good build quality, and refined engine. Performance is smooth and linear, making it easy to ride in city traffic while still being comfortable on highways.Ride quality is one of its strongest points, handling rough roads confidently and staying stable at higher speeds. The ergonomics are comfortable for daily use, and features like the digital console, LED lighting, and ABS add to its practicality. Fuel efficiency and maintenance costs are reasonable, backed by Hero’s strong service network.Overall, the Xtreme 250R is a sensible and reliable choice for riders who want a sporty-looking bike that’s comfortable, practical, and easy to live with every day.

Daily Ride with a Sporty Heart – Hero Xtreme 250 Review
3 weeks ago
Sayon Mukherjee
I bought the Hero Xtreme 250 after comparing many bikes in this segment, and overall I am very satisfied. The buying experience at the showroom was smooth and staff explained everything clearly. The bike looks very aggressive and sporty, especially the muscular tank, LED lights and sharp design. On the road, the engine feels powerful and refined. Acceleration is strong and highway cruising is comfortable. The suspension handles bad roads well and the bike feels stable even at higher speeds. Brakes are confident and give good control. Mileage is decent for a 250cc bike if ridden calmly. Servicing cost is reasonable and Hero service network is a big advantage. Maintenance is easy; just follow regular service, chain lubrication and timely oil changes.Pros: Powerful engine, sporty looks, good comfort, reliable brand.Cons: Slightly heavy in traffic, engine heat in slow city rides.

Bikram
At its heart is an all-new 249cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine producing a healthy 29.5 bhp and 25 Nm of torque. This motor is refined, feels eager to rev, and offers a strong mid-range pull, making it quick off the line and capable on the highway. The 6-speed gearbox, paired with an assist and slipper clutch, offers slick and light action, enhancing the riding experience.Handling & Features: Built around a steel trellis frame and suspended by a premium 43mm USD front fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock, the bike offers agile and confident handling. It is eager to lean into corners and feels stable at speed. Key features include full LED lighting, dual-channel switchable ABS, and a digital LCD cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, a lap timer, and turn-by-turn navigation.Verdict: The Xtreme 250R stands out with its bold design, competitive pricing, and strong performance figures. While some rivals may offer better brand pedigree, the Hero delivers a fantastic package of modern technology and riding dynamics, making it a powerful value-for-money proposition for enthusiasts and daily commuters alike.

Hero Extreme 250R: The Perfect Blend of Power, Style, and Efficiency
17 weeks ago
Ashutosh Goyal
The Hero Extreme 250R is a motorcycle that has been turning heads ever since its debut. With a striking design, solid performance, and a focus on rider comfort, it positions itself as a strong contender in the mid-range sports bike segment. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s break it down across performance, style, comfort, and mileage to get a full picture.Performance: Unleashing Power with PrecisionThe Hero Extreme 250R is powered by a 249.6cc single-cylinder engine, capable of producing around 26.5 bhp and 21.5 Nm of torque. This engine delivers impressive punch, especially for riders who want a balance between power and daily usability. The motor offers smooth power delivery through its 6-speed gearbox, making it suitable for both city rides and longer highway trips.Style: Aggressive Yet RefinedOne of the standout features of the Hero Extreme 250R is its bold, muscular design. The sharp, angular lines combined with aggressive bodywork give it an athletic stance, making it look like a bike from a more premium segment. The front LED headlights with DRLs add to the modern appeal, and the tail section is sleek with a minimalist approach. The bike comes in striking color options, including Matte Black, Red, and White, further accentuating its aggressive character. It’s not just about looks; the build quality is top-notch, and attention to detail is evident in the finishing touches.Comfort: Ride for Hours Without FatigueDespite its sporty persona, the Hero Extreme 250R doesn’t skimp on comfort. The ergonomics have been designed to accommodate riders of various statures. The seating position is slightly leaned-forward but not overly aggressive, making it suitable for longer rides. The seat itself is cushioned well, providing decent comfort even during extended rides. The suspension setup (telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear) absorbs bumps effectively, ensuring that the ride is smooth and comfortable even on uneven roads. The handlebar position is relaxed, making city commuting stress-free, while the footpegs are placed in a manner that allows for easy shifts in posture during spirited riding.Mileage: A True All-RounderWhen it comes to fuel efficiency, the Hero Extreme 250R manages to impress. On average, you can expect around 30–35 km/l, which is quite good for a bike of this performance caliber. While it’s not class-leading in terms of mileage, it's more than sufficient for daily commutes and long rides. This makes it a balanced option for riders who want performance without burning a hole in their wallet at the fuel station.

Never ever trust Hero
Saurav Rawat
My first bike was hero Xtreme 250 r and I spent my hard earned money on it but it was my biggest nightmare ever because of hero service. I don't have words to describe how hero the service was. It just make a break my mental peace and also spoiled my holidays on the service station and I you are thinking of buying Hero bike just think about the service also.If you are going to buy 125 or above cc you should not go for hero and you should move on to more reliable brands. My friend has hunter 350 and I also visit Royal Enfield service station and it was far better than this piece of shit.I 'm not praising any other brand but trust me bro. If you are going to buy Hero bikes you have to mentally prepare for it.
