The Dare scooter is a 125cc offering from Hero MotoCorp that was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. The scooter has been specifically developed to target male buyers who contribute significantly to the overall scooter sales in India.
The Dare is powered by a single cylinder 124.6cc engine that churns out 9.38bhp at 7,500rpm and has a maximum torque of 9.8Nm at 6,500rpm. The showcased scooter featured premium alloy wheels but we expect this to make its way for much reasonable ones to keep costs in check. The scooter gets a 200 mm diameter hydraulic disc brake at the front and 130 mm drum brakes at the rear. The Dare features LED lights and tail lamps, a full digital console and standard utility features like a mobile phone charging socket, pass switch, side-stand indicator and a boot light. The Dare also gets a full digital console that displays informatio- like service due indicator.
The Hero Dare is expected to be launched in India next year with many colour options. We expect the Gurgaon-based manufacturer to price this scooter somewhere between Rs 56,000 and Rs 61,000. It will compete with the soon to be launched Honda Activa 125.
