  • The perfect bike to jump up in the big league

The throttle responses are quick with smooth acceleration and all six gearshifts are easy and precise letting you enjoy the ride. Even at really high speeds of over 120 kmph, the engine doesn't make a fuss about being pushed, and allows to open up the throttle further. The street 750 may have been designed for the urban rider but harley's trademark cruising riding characteristics are still intact - thank god!

adding a few inches in ground clearance and suspension does mean that the street 750 takes in the large potholes and uneven speed breakers with confidence unlike other harleys which tend to be lower. The chassis keeps the ride steady all through and the handling both on the highway and in city traffic is impressive. The mrf front (100/60 r17) and rear tyres (140/75 r15) offered only for the indian market, have decent amount of grip but could use better traction especially at high speeds - as the braking isn't quite so precise. The street 750 has fantastic cornering abilities for a cruiser though, and lets you take those wide turns without slowing down and worrying about the foot pegs hitting the road.Unlike most harleys which rarely get out of the garage on weekdays, i do expect the street 750 to be on the road all though the week both in the city and on the open road.

    Pros

throttle response & nimbleness on the streets

    cons

styling could have been a tad better

It's engine is really powerful but with a very low mileage it doesn't fit for long drives the braking system is wonderful which keeps the bike in total control. The seat is really comfortable but with no use because long trips are not possible. Due to very high maintenance costs it keeps your pocket draining unreasonably.

  • A great bike but....

Ride quality & handling excellent. This is a powerful bike with a super refined engine thatis liquid cooled. Its made for cities and can cut corners. Unlike other harleys, its fun to drive in the alleys and back streets and that too with super torquee enhine. It takes the ride with aplomb. Same thing for highway driving. Super cool and in control.

Final words its a complete bike except for a few niggles here and there (?) ok let me try again. Its a complete bike except for a few serious issues here and there.

Let this be known that i speak not with my personal ownership experience but from what i have heard in detail from someone who does and also by going a lot of virtual research.

If you have money to spend, go for it. You have a sweet deal here. A really thrilling machine and each ride to remember. Good for daily movement in a city like delhi? yes. No worse than any other 150 cc or 350 cc bike, but the whole lengt and breath of both hella nd heaven better.

If you have money, please buy it. Its worth that much.

Areas of improvement breaks: 2016 has seen better front breaks. But reports are these are still not good enough. The earlier models had dismal breaks and reports are also that in europe this bike may have completely failed the breaks test.

Abs: aother issue is that may be in india abs will be mandatory by 2017. Now given the fact that despite of dsmal front breaks, hd, i was told, is not helping pre 2016 buyers in upgrading breaks. They just gave the m bad breaks thaen left them out in open. Some have been paying huge sums to upgrade from markets and many have been disappointed.

Now what is those buying a street 750, find that on first of jan 2017, all streets also have an abs. Cool so far. But what if hd refuses to upgrade the 2016 breaks and add abs ? given their loyalty record with indian pre 2016 customers, it is very likely. So may be wait an year more.

In any case, bike this big and with that much power running on such bad roads as in india, must have an abs standard. Period.

Foot rest position: if you are tall, you may find your knees dangling out of your show heels getting burnt by the exhaust. But hey, take a test rinde and find out yourself.

Rear view mirrors: the mirrors willshow your shoulders since that is not a place to keep looking, may be turn both to your face and keep admiring yourself from both angles. Because these mirrors will hardly ever show you whats behind you.

Headlight shape: personal opinion. My own. They need to invent something as cute as that of an enfield bullet. Thats a headligt shape for ever. No?

numb gear change: i am told that you dont really feel that you have changed the gear. Particularly as the engine has a lot of torque. But you need to hear the pin falling in the slot? no? ok you need to feel the teeth falling in the slot.

Its a great bike. If i could i will buy it yesterday.

    Pros

great engine, great sound, an almost complete machine

    cons

breaks, foot rest position, rear view mirrors, headlight shape, numb gear change, no abs

When i bought the bike, i was not so sure about the performance and other details. I was just into the looks of the bike. But after i bought the bike, i started riding it daily and started learning new things about it. This bike gave me a whole new experience. The performance of the bike was just too awesome. It has an amazing pick-up and gets the speed of 100 kmph in just 5-10 seconds. The service and maintenance cost is also very genuine and wont cost much. It just needs a regular service in period of time. According to me their are no pros and cons. It depends upon user to user and the type of rider or riding style. That's all i can say genuinely about this bike.

    1) buying experience - this was my first bike. I choose it by looking among many other bikes and came up with a decision to buy this one. I went to the harley davidson showroom. People there are really nice. I took a test ride of a few of them. And finally settled for this one. It had good power and features. It fitted all my needs. I bought it when i was in my 12th class.2) riding experience - i started to ride it on streets and soon turned to highway also. It could reach speeds upto 170km/h. It is very comfortable ride. Very smooth , user friendly and good to handle. One can easily understand and control it.3) other details- it initially gave me an average of 16 but with a little modification it came to as much as 21 km/litre. It is fast , can reach 100 km/h in 6-7 seconds. It has immense power. The looks are also really cool. One can tell it is a superbike with just the looks. It has a very neat ,elegant and cool looks. I had matt black but i also loved the other colours.4) servicing and maintenance- contrary to the believe , harleys have quite low maintenance. One has to service it after an year or 10,000 kilometres which is quite good. The servicing cost around 4-5k which is a decent amount for an year. Rest cleaning and maintenance is must to maintain the dignity and elitness of the bike. It is belt drive so lubrication and cleaning is also not required of the chain.5) summarised pros A) good mileage per litre B) good power, pickup and speed C) one can lean at good angles D) it has iron body so small accidents don't affect it .Cons A) heating issues with the bike.B) no fuel gauge is present. Just a fuel light to show low fuel is present.C) parking lights for cool biking experience is also not present.D) the last but not at all the least- the braking is the worst in these bike. One has to install aftermarket breaks for a better braking experience. This is the worst thing about the bike.

Tyres are to be changed depending on your breaking and usage. But on an average after 20,000 km the tyres have to be changed. All the oils are changed during service which is maximum an year or 10,000 km Keep the bike cool as it has heating issues.

  • The attention seeker complete joy ride

    Daksh Gupta

While going into the store in ambience mall vasant kunj, i had no intentions of buying a Harley-Davidson. I was going there just to check out there apparel but the staff was very friendly and a tall white guy with a beard was showing me around and telling me about the bikes in the showroom. I was very pleased and i liked the bikes a lot. I used to ride a bullet in my early adult-hood and all of us know that Harley is the father of royal enfield. The guy took me behind the showroom and started a bike and started to rev it and that sound of the scream-in-eagle exhaust struck a chord in my heart. I thought to myself that for what reason have i set up my business we are not born just to pay bills and die. I went inside and enquired about the cheapest Harley, they guy showed me various colour choices and accessories. With the bike i bought:

2 helmets worth roughly about 43000/-

    Pillion back-rest

    Engine guard

    2 bike panniers

I chose denim black colour because......Admit it, matte black is the coolest colour.

Thankfully i was carrying my chequebook, i signed the cheque and booked the bike. (finance options are also available) they guy registered me up for h.O.G. (Harley owners group)

    Over to the bike:

The bike accelerates like a cheetah, throttle response is really sharp (purchasing a backrest is a must) without the backrest the pillion would fall off. The bike performs well in all aspects. The only negative being the brakes, the brakes are mediocre, i would give the brakes a 76/100. Its not that the brakes are bad but i am just taking out a negative because i have to. Otherwise the bike is perfect and a joy-ride. It gets a lot of attention on the road. Everyone starts to stare at you at the red light as if you are a criminal. Several people got out of their cars to enquire about the bike at petrol pumps. Another negative is the stock sound but it can easily fixed by installing a vance and hines exhaust or a scream-in eagle exhaust. Vance and hines voids the warranty but sounds a lot better than scream-in eagle. Scream-in eagle does not void the warranty. Both of these slip-ons cost about 40000-45000.

Amazing bike for india. Enough power to have a great feeling and enjoy long drive. Amazing braking system. You feel safe anytime. I use this bike for long weekend ride in highway to rajasthan and i really enjoy the experience. My wife and myself have also join ride. If you have a pillion the engine is powerful enough for it. When you need power, it’s here !

  • Finally a hog

Being a bike enthusiast, was always longing to own a harley for a long time and finally decided to show up at two rivers harley pune on the 21st march for a test drive. I was instantly offered a test drive and just fell in love with the beast instantly. Met the finance folks at harley and the deal was closed on the same day. Went for the denim black and my bike was finally delivered on the 5th April and delivery process was smooth with the usual harley ceremony. Have clocked over 500km since then, with the city and on highways and following are my observations...1) its a head turner and you instantly get noticed 2) powerful engine with loads of low end torque, making it an ideal bike for both city and highway 3) with the addition of abs, braking issue on the 750's seem to have been sorted out 4) engine on the 2018 street 750 appears to be more refined than the previous ones 5) seating posture is laid back and relaxed 6) ground clearance seems to have improved, making it easy to pass over on unscientific speed breakers in India. A few things that will bother you as an owner 1) engine heat in stop and go city traffic. Cannot blame harley here, since engine churns out such massive performance figures, which are not meant for unruly traffic in India 2) only a 13 litre fuel tank. 3) harley should have ditched the halogen lights for the new generation led lights. You will need aux lights for sure if you are drive in the night on highways 4) wind blast will hit you in full effect post speeds of 120kmph. Spares and maintenance will be on the higher side since its a harley and one has to be prepared for it while buying. Owning a super-bike is the easy part, maintaining it is the toughest.

  • Amazing cafe racer

    Sumanto

First of all owning this bad boy is itself a different level charm. In lucknow united harley davidson near vibhuti khand will provide all the merchandise and also are official dealers also the best. Ok hoping to this bike the new 750 is completely different and u feel it .. The pickup is insanely smooth like in few sec you will touch 0-120km/h. The ground clearance has improved , the engine is more crispier now with better torque and the sound is seriously different along with handles which are more of cafe-style. Talking of look the bike is heighted now the thing about it will drive you crazy u can actually feel its power its immense. The noise of engine is more of a sport tourer but noise is decent unless you play around with the exhaust. The look is totally bratish with the low ride cruise feel and very cafe-ish. This bike gives u the cafe racer feel. For high end bike like these it is better to service around 300km and multiple of 8000km. The service centre goes into details inspection and any addition changes has to be pre-told.

The bike is amazing feel if you love low ride cruiser best sunday buddy this bike has it all. Best under 10lakh budget

Only con i feel is the bike lacks the harley essence of that growl rest this is fantastic piece

I use this bike for long weekend ride in highway to rajasthan and i really enjoy the experience. My wife and myself have also join ride. If you have a pillion the engine is powerful enough for it.

  • The perfect bike to jump up in the big league

    Ankit Shard

    J Singh

    J Singh
