Chains are odd. They’re the most basic of things, and yet they need attention quite often. Lubrication is necessary every few hundred kilometres, and usually this isn’t a problem with our motorcycles, because they have main stands. However, if you’re one of those lucky people who have purchased a performance motorcycle, then you know how difficult it is to clean and lube the chain yourself. You can’t carry a paddock stand around with you on a long ride either, so something like the SVS roller comes in very handy.

The SVS roller is a compact unit, and can be carried around even in a backpack. However, it feels quite heavy even though it weighs just 2.1 kg, which is a negative as far as carrying it around is concerned. But it will certainly take the load of the heaviest bikes without complaint. It gets rubberised strips at the bottom for grip, and two spare ones as well, in case they’re needed. SVS Motorworld has thoughtfully included a 150ml can of Motul chain lubricant as well, which is worth ₹ 230. There’s also two key rings with Ixil branding, for which SVS is the dealer.

Using the SVS Motoworld Universal Tyre Roller is very simple – you push the motorcycle so that the rear tyre sits on the roller, and then you turn the wheel by hand while you spray the chain with the cleaner or lubricant. It takes a little while, but there is certainly no easier way to do this on your own.
