A Recap
The Viaterra Wayne Urban riding jacket is a well-measured tool for daily riding. Made from cotton canvas with mesh panels strategically placed on the arms and underarms, it balances comfort and airflow. The build is practical, featuring a dual zipper with a snap-button closure, and natural leather trims add to its durability. It uses YKK zippers and a mesh lining to improve longevity and ventilation.

What’s Good
Lightness.
The Wayne is easy to carry off the bike. It’s just as simple to stow away at the office or home. It doesn’t take up much space. Plus, it’s light, folds neatly, and disappears into backpacks or under scooter seats—ideal for Mumbai’s traffic-ridden streets.
Heat Management.

Unlike a mesh jacket—which is airy but can get warm and sticky in stop-and-go traffic—the Wayne, thanks to its cotton construction, feels significantly more manageable. Especially in Mumbai’s humid congestion, that makes a real difference.
Ventilation.

The Wayne breathes well. Its cotton build, coupled with mesh panels on the arms and along the torso near the underarms, helps keep things airy. This works at high speeds, at city pace, and—as we found—even during trail rides.
Flexibility.

We’ve used the Wayne as a stand-in for a denim jacket. We’ve worn it over a dirt-bike body armour, and also as a casual layer on a nippy evening. It looks and feels at home on a scooter, scrambler, cruiser, or an ADV. So, in a way, this is a jacket for nearly every occasion.
What’s Not So Good
No quick dry.

If the jacket gets soaked in the rain or absorbs too much sweat on a hot, humid day, it takes a while to dry. That means you can’t just pack it up and forget about it—it needs to be aired out. You can’t toss it into a closet, bag, or scooter seat until it’s dry.
No chest protection.

We know chest armour is rare in urban riding jackets. But Wayne’s lightness and thinness—especially for those used to more protective jackets—can make you feel slightly under-protected once speeds climb above 80kmph.
To Buy or Not to Buy?
The Viaterra Wayne wears like a regular jacket, blending into city life without screaming “rider.” It’s not a hardcore protective unit, but as an urban commuting solution, it strikes a rare balance of function, comfort, and everyday wearability—all in a clean, understated design. We like it. And for anyone who commutes regularly, it’s worth having.
