Rynox Navigator Hydration Bagpack Long-Term Review: Introduction

The Build

The Navigator backpack is built using 600D Cordura panels and features genuine YKK zippers and buckles. The backpack gets an adjustable harness and waist strap setup so that the fit can be adjusted to the user’s requirements.

There are multiple pockets; the first is the main one used to hold the hydration pack, followed by two additional pockets to keep essentials such as a phone, wallet, or even a tyre inflator.

Lastly, there’s an elastic stash that can hold gloves. Overall, the backpack offers a combined cargo capacity of 4 litres.

That said, it is important to note that the hydration pack has to be bought separately from Rynox, and isn’t included with the backpack. This was surprising, as the insulation pouch for the hydration pack was included with the bag.

The Plan

It is easy to forget to drink enough water, and I’ve made this mistake in the past. With the Navigator Hydration backpack, I hope this won’t be an issue in the future.

The plan is to use the backpack on all my rides, shoots and long trips in the Mumbai summer heat.

It will be my constant companion while testing motorcycles in the city, and it will also accompany me on the usual Mumbai-Pune sprint and back. Testing the backpack in these conditions will give a good idea of its practicality.
