Hero Splendor iSmart 110 vs TVS Victor

There is a marked difference in the perception of an 110cc motorcycle and a 100cc one in the Indian market. Though the difference is only 10cc, the styling and features change and for the buyers, the 110 is always an upgrade from the run-of-the-mill 100. So, here is the Hero Splendor iSmart 110.  Elder to the Splendor iSmart with 12cc more cubic capacity and almost three quarters of a horsepower more to play with. And there is more. It also has the solid feel of the Splendor (most of us have grown up either on it or looking at one), along with the latest state-of-art technology and features.  

The original Victor was launched in 2001 and was the forerunner for the south Indian manufacturer. Simply put, the Victor is to TVS what the Splendor is to Hero, the people’s champion. It has been a couple of months now with this new TVS and it is, for the most part, proving to be a ‘Victor’.

If you read our first long term review of the Victor, we told you that we would be answering a bunch of questions regarding this TVS. Let’s get the most simple and important one out of the way – fuel efficiency: it gave a surprisingly great 59.8kmpl. It stacked up pretty well losing by just a couple of kilometres to its lower-powered segment rival - the Honda Livo.

After just having sold my daily ‘commuter’, I was handed the keys to the new TVS Victor as a long termer. That my daily ‘commuter’ was a manic 373cc, 44bhp machine holds no water here, because my new, though a lot slower and saner new commute partner, holds far more significance. Here’s why.
