This is one of the most affordable bmw bikes in the market. The looks, riding quality, and features are really great. I have done a Rajasthan tour on this and absolutely no problem or no fatigue. Very well ergonomically designed and it is definitely likes you are owning a bmw gs family bike. Nevertheless to say this is surely head turner.

  • Bmw g310 deserves the bike of the year in all respects.

I always wished to have an imported bike for adventuring. Just took a good test ride on bmw g310 at the showroom. Stunning looks, technically built, and superb suspension which is very necessary for Indian road conditions. In India adventure bikes are only from royal enfield, they are ok but the suspension is too hard for long rides. The bmw g310 is an on road/off-road bike. A perfect bike for adventure riders and college teens. I have decided to buy this bike on diwali.

Riding experience: the riding experience is so good long ride touring.
Performance: It's so good responsive throttle in the low-mid-high range you can enjoy the comfortable ride. Servicing and maintenance: Expensive service but it's worth it.

    1. This was my second bike it was an pure upgrade , the sales team were amazing make sure you ask them helmet for the bike
    2. This make is so comfy for driving it feels like you are sitting in sofa and most annoying thing about the bike it’s gear box which is so hard that i break my toes not so smooth , this bike is absolutely a beast
    3. The bike looks really amazing the looks of the bike will never let you down it is comparable with the other gs in term of the size. It can be considered as one of the best tourer in class
    4. The showrooms are less so do service centre they are fine maintaining the bag is absolutely really biter thing of the bike i wish bmw team makes it much cheaper
    5. Pros
The headlight led will never let you down they are damn good
    Much stable at higher speeds
    Fit for even off road
    Cons
Gear box is the main con of this bike
Service experience we have to book before it makes it pain
Smaller fuel tank for a tourer 13l it’s a main disappointment

  • Value for money and good for new bikers

    Buying experience (5/5):
The buying experience was great. Folks at the showroom were very helpful, smiling, and were answer each and every query of mine. This is my first bike so i had a lot of questions. The on-road cost went to 3.8l, which was 20k more than the budget i had, and the sales team was very hard to bargain with! :)
    Riding experience (4/5):
Right out of the showroom, i could feel vibrations in the bike at low speeds. Along with that, there is a weird knocking sound (which i am assuming is coming from the chain), for which i took the bike to the service station within the first week of buying it. They weren't able to diagnose the issue, and i left with the hope that the sound will go away post the first service, which is scheduled in 2 months (or 1000 km). The bike, overall, is very comfortable and not so heavy or tall for me. I am 5'8'', and i can balance the bike easily.
Acceleration is great and it doesn't stall or take hiccups even while riding on high gears but at low speed. Very very smooth, indeed.
Gear shifts, during the first week, were a pain in my rear. Neutral just won't click. But after riding it for 2 weeks (~60 km), the gear shift has become much smoother. Again, i am hoping it'll get better after riding more and post the 1st service.
Details about looks, performance, etc (4.5/5):
The seats are very comfortable. The handlebar is wide and gives you a good and commanding position.
I, personally, like the design. It does not look too big or too small. Fit and finish, surprisingly, are not as per what i was hoping for, considering it is a bmw. For example, the front panel (the plastic structure surrounding the instrument cluster) is not center-aligned! it is a millimeter to the right and is unfixable. It is hard to notice, but i have a thing for alignments and it just breaks my heart every time i notice it.
The tail unit is wobbly too, and i can feel a few vibrations in the foot pegs, tank, and handlebar while riding at low speeds and low gears.
Road presence is nothing to sing about (just the way i like it). It does not grab a lot of attention and the exhaust sound is smooth too. You can park it anywhere and not worry, because it'll blend with a lot of other daily bikes. But yes, i have experienced a couple of instances of people standing a little too close to the bike, especially during signal stops, to check it out.
The mileage that i have got so far is ~27 km/l (100% city and in-traffic riding), which i am hoping will touch 30 or will go even beyond post the first service and on an open stretch.
    Servicing and maintenance:
Yet to get the first service done, but my short experience of dealing with the team at the pune service station was good. Good infrastructure and service. Also, you get to see a few really nice-looking bikes, parked and admire the beauty till your bike is being diagnosed.
    Pros:
    1. Design
    2. Exhaust note
    3. Seating and handlebar comfort
    Cons:
    1. 11 liters tank capacity
    2. Mild vibrations
    3. Gear shifts

The 310gs is the first stock seat other than my old 1980 suzuki gs that is day-long comfortable for me. The lightweight and very nimble handling make it great in the city – you can really carve through traffic and you’re unlikely to feel overwhelmed by it. I added the givi luggage rack, along with bark busters hand guards (for extra protection as well as warmth through wind-deflection) and some R&G crash protection.

The bmw gs 310 is an excellent bike! very comfortable for long rides and it can take you to places difficult to reach, its torque will surprise you! very stylish so it steals sights of people when the y see it! you can ride it for over 280 km and depending on your driving style, the full tank may last over 300 km. Very economic and a very suitable bike for adventures and for the city. We know bmw is not a cheap brand of motorcycle so it´s good to analyze first if you will give the maintenance it needs. However, the 2020 model of the 310 gs corrected few issues with previous models and for you to go to the mechanic with this bike, it will take a while. The abs is simple great! the feature to disconnect it whenever you want will give you plenty of fun! the only con i see on this bike besides the maintenance cost is that, you would be likely to upgrade it to a 650 gs or to a f750 gs in a very short period of time! in general, this bike gives a lot of fun and security when you ride it.It you are thinking on getting one go and buy it! it will give you a good gs riding experience!.

  • A grade bike with a 3rd class low rev torque.

    Mrinal Mani

This is undoubtedly an eye catching motorcycle. You'll often notice people turning their heads to the bike. It is also very comfortable and has "excellent" braking capability. Never seen a bike with such terrific braking performance. However, it does not seem to be very reliable.
On the first day of delivery, the bike stopped after 5 km and we had to tow it back to the garage. Next day the starter motor was changed and it was fixed. Point to be noted, the motor of a brand new bike had to be changed in just one day. Ok fine, let me take that as a technical exception and not be judgmental about that. After all it's a machine and perhaps bad luck. But no, it doesn't end there. Over the next one month, the bike again stopped several times (more the 10 to 15 times) in the middle of the road due to two reasons:
    1. Over heating
    2. Taking the clutch and releasing accelerator.
Now, every now or then I would see the engine temperature reaching over 100c even when riding at 40-50km/hr. When I called service people they said 100c is very normal because 105c is the limit. Just 5c below the limit every now and then doesn't seem normal to me. One fine day the bike stopped in the middle of the road and refused to start because the temperature reached over 105. Though it eventually did start after 20 minutes, but what the hell? it's not a 200hp bike that heat management is so difficult.
Apart from this, the bike has stopped several times when when I applied full clutch and released the accelerator. Infact riding this bike was like a sore. I hope it doesn't stop!
Before this i had yamaha fazer and take my words that bike never stopped because of over heating or because of engaging the clutch.
Another thing is that this bike has a very very bad low rpm torque delivery. It is useless to drive the bike below 4000rpm. At low revs, one wrong gear or a slight quick release of clutch and the engine begins to knock out. This makes low speed driving a very bad experience. Not just me but several people who have tried my bike have ended into sudden engine turn off because of bad low rev power delivery. My yamaha fazer was better at low revs.
The bike though become fun after 4k rpm but it's a pain below that. Also the power delivery is highly non linear. It comes in bursts after 4k and again somewhere after 6k.
After first service of the bike after 1000km, the heating issue was solved and switching off when taking clutch also reduced significantly.
One more thing i think could be better is the speed. With my brother sitting at the back, which is mostly the case, the bike struggles reaching 120km/hr. I don't mean it can't reach more than 120, but the time it would take to cross this speed will require an impractical stretch of free road.
So for all practical purpose, we can find it reaching 80 to 90 easily on the delhi ring road with moderate traffic. So for me, well this is a 90km/h bike, just wish it could be 120 or so.
    To sum up
    1. Stunning looks and some how the brand value (really?) adds to it.
    2. Very comfortable, glides through rough roads.
    3. Very good breaking performance.
    4. Very bad low rpm power delivery
    5. Speed slightly lower than expectations.
Why 4 starts even after all this? well i think i have got used to riding it and the overall ownership makes me feel a 4 star like satisfaction. It's not only the engine you see when we talk of how you feel owning a particular bike.
A million dollar question would be, if you removed the brand value would i still rate this 4 stars? honest answer... No. I would rate it 3.5 stars. So the extra 0.5 stars just for the ego boost of owning a bmw? umm... Again a good question but you know...
Would i recommend this bike? well if you've ever thought of buying a ktm, then probably no. If you're more of a refinement person then yes it is a bike worth buying.
Given the option of 100% refund, will i buy a different bike? no
Out of the box, but i decided this bike over the ninja 650 which i was initially planning. No it was not the price, it was the feel. Even today i will not swap this with a 650.

The dealer experience was not that great. The ride is as if you are sitting on a couch and all others are struggling to vade the bad roads . Love the revs of the engine, has enough juice while over taking and beautiful handling on the curves. Perfect bike for touring . Looks is a head turner, public will take selfies if you ride to the suburbs and park it even for few minutes.

Riding experience is great, great brakes and suspension. Really like the fact that it is a very big and road presence is great with this bike. People will definitely notice you with this bmw bike. Comfortable for long rides and midrange is great specially pull between 3000 rpm to 6000 rpm.
Low end torque is felt nice while basic off-roading.

    5. Pros
The headlight led will never let you down they are damn good
    Much stable at higher speeds
    Fit for even off road
    Cons
Gear box is the main con of this bike
