Purchased this bike last year July, was very excited as this was my first bike. Loved everything about it, looks and performance are key points. Its a head turner when you are in city traffic, the only pain that it has is unreliable service from service centres. Best bike in this price segment followed by apache 200.

About this 200cc pocket rocket, i want to say that wow.Not about looks because of its engine and especially the top end. In looks the bike is not enough to compete in market because of its sibling duke 200. But when we compare its pricing this bike is value for money in-fact more than its value. Riding experience is awesome if you are heavy enough then you will feel how stable it is on high speed. You can do corners without any hesitation if u know the right way. And its maintenance cost is just as small as a pulsar 150.Comparing to duke 200.So don't worry about maintaining the bike. And some cons are that after 20k kms u feel like engine is little buzzy and not refined. And their wheels they become little unbalanced on high speeds after you have done 30k kms. So these are not so worrying. We can easily compromise this because this bike is a best value for money.

Maintenance of bike is cheap as compared to any other brands of 150 to 400 cc bikes , break pads , sprocket , and other parts are cheap and reliable , eg for r15 the disc pads cost more than rs. 900 Rs , where as in ns 200 its just rs. 400 For both front and back , sprocket cost less than 2000 rs , while in r15 , cbr , duke its above rs. 3500 , And i have done more than 50,000 kms and done decarbonization of head and reseated valves for less than rs. 4000 , In any other bike it will cost more than rs. 6000. Only problem with the bike is vibration of plastic parts can be solved using rubber and silicon .

Buying experience was nice Riding was bad as after some time the engine gives up No doubt on performance it will make feel its the most powerful bike when it takes it pick up but turns to be the worst when you are on highway Servicing will not resolve the issue of vibration... The bike fibre is made up of cheap quality as it vibrates a lot and there is no permanent cure to it as the official service centres of bajaj prefer it to stick it with a double tape...

    Style

    good

engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox

engine performance is good but problem with clutch and gear box. False neutral problem exixts

    ride quality & handling

good at speeds above 60kmph critical below 50 kmph

    final words

good machine but poor service back up and road stability at high speeds.

    Areas of improvement

clutch and body fiering has to be concentrated otherwise the bike will be a failure one. As i am a regular user of pulsar the regular problems of this model exists in this model also like false neutral and clutch jerks. Road stability is a big question at speed more than 80kmph. Fuel efficiency is better compared to same segment of other brands.

    Pros

smart pick up, style and seating comfort.

    Cons

problem with clutch, very poor service back up, road stability on high speeds, body vibration. False

i fell in love with the pulsar 200ns after watching its first advertisement on tv "the fastest Indian". That time it was something around 2012-13 when the bike was launched. Pulsar 200ns was my dream bike and i bought her in Aug 2001 when i was of a legal age to drive. This is a honest 4 year ownership review. A bike with a 200cc engine was too powerful and with great power comes great responsibility. When i started the bike for the first time, the engine sound took me to the top of my happiness. The pulsar 200ns is a complete package what any Indian teenager can expect from his first bike that are looks, comfort, performance and of course the main question mileage and this piece of beauty just fulfils every expectation. Talking about the looks, the fairing is the most eye catchy & the big silencer on the end gives it a masculine look which makes the bike differentiate from other pulsar series. In case of comfort, the seats are wide and there is plenty of space. Its up-right sitting posture never causes pain in the lower back, wrists and shoulder after riding for more than 2 hours but the material used is stiff which causes a little discomfort in the beginning but its okay once to get used to it. The bike won my heart in case of performance as its acceleration from 0-60 kmph was buttery smooth. Overtaking other vehicles can be managed very easily. The response to very quick towards the acceleration and even the breaking is good. What i missed in this bike was abs as the rear tyre gets easily locked up with heavy breaking and i really needed a sixth gear in this bike. Although i used to ride my bike on any occasions or in every climatic situations this bike was never a hole in my pocket. It stills returns me a good average of 30 to 38kmpl as i have maintained it very well. One thing i noticed in my bike and really hate it and that is the vibration of the fairing. Once the bike reaches 4500+rpm it starts to vibrate and make some uneven noise. I request bajaj to solve that issue on priority. If properly maintained this bike will never give you any high expenses. Rest the bike is a complete stunner and the love for this bike is never ending. Pulsar 200ns will rule the upcoming generations too. The bike is a true worth for money. I request bajaj to keep improving the quality of their products and keep making people like us happy.

    Thank you !
